Guest
I've not been brave enough to get out into the sales yet - dragging three children round the shops isn't really my idea of fun - and have yet to see anything online that I fancy. I really must try harder....
Christian
I have banned myself from the sales! Even though Badger balm is half price in Boots (Thanks for pointing that one out Cinnamon ) I am not getting anything in the sales. The credit card and overdraught are not healthy at the moment. This budget lark is awful!! Roof to fix, leaking shower, redecoration etc its pants!! *and breathe*
Karen & co.
sometimes think I'm far too practical If I wouldn't consider buying something at full price, then I don't buy it in the sales I can't even stockpile presents for people as I like to choose something for them individually and I wonder why it always takes me so long I need to take tips from a friend who seems to grab something and say 'that'll do for ....' but I can't bring myself to do it karen x
Egluntyne
I need to take tips from a friend who seems to grab something and say 'that'll do for ....' but I can't bring myself to do it I know what you mean Karen. My lovely SIL can do this. She will have bought all her cards, wrapping paper, crackers, new new baubles and tinsel for next Christmas by now. All the presents will be wrapped, labelled and squirrelled away and cards written by July. Well maybe that it a bit of an exaggeration. August. Charlottechicken
Here's my only proper after Christmas sale bargain, 10 scarves for £4 from the rag market Six knitted 'raggy' ones and four magic scarves. Not for me though, for the gift bags I am making up for NEXT Christmas
Guest
magic scarf!!!????
Charlottechicken
Magic scarves are knitted in a tube out of lovely soft long haired chenille type yarn. Because they are in a tube you can wear them over your head like a snood or like a hat etc. So they metamorphose (?) into several types of headgear, I suppose that makes 'em 'magic'
Basset
I don't do the sales, unless its online, so have got a few bargains that way today. I figure that if when the children are back at school, the shops are emptier & life is normal again,if a bargain is still to be had then its fate & I was meant to find it I 100% agree with you on this Cinnamon, just the thought of all the crowded shops makes me feel claustrophobic and irritable. But I've done some on-line sale shopping and stocked up from the Boden sale. Also I've just ordered 2 armchairs, luckily they still make the same range we bought 6 years ago, so they will match our exsiting sofas and armchairs. It will be lovely to have some extra seating for when our friends and family come to see us.
Ain't Nobody Here
I went to Matalan at 7.30pm - shop empty, car park empty - bought a long sleeved t-shirt for £4 and a zip up fleecy top for £7 (for ES) & slippers for me for £4. Then off to M&S at 8pm - again deserted apart from small queue at returns desk. Sale was RUBBISH - half the racks were empty, the others were stuffed higgledy-piggledy full of unsaleable, unwearable tat. Tried on some Per Una trousers and a cardi (non-sale ) - did my bum look big in this? You bet it did . Cardi was too short and didn't hide anything it was supposed to. Left empty-handed but with a full purse .
Guest
I stayed home all day today, worked on sorting out a room that needs some work doing and a couple of my old friends from my previous school (yeah the one I liked and should never have left) popped in. I also found the Radley online sale and ordered a pink handbag and a pencil case. Doesn't everyone need a new pencil case???? They were bargains with the handbag being down from £85 to £49 and the pencil case set being down from £45 to £34, it comes with a pen and pencil too BARGAIN! OK I do have a bit of a Radley problem. I just wish we could skip January/February and March and it was April next week. I find the months after Christmas very depressing.

Guest
NO. Well maybe if I'm in Ikea. I refuse to even sniff a Yankee Candle because if I do then I know I'll have to start buying them.
Christian
I could post one to you Pengy! Clean cotton, one sniff and you're hooked! Go on, you know you want to......
Guest
No I don't want to.... They have a huge display in my fave garden centre and its always difficult to walk past. Grinding coffee beans is a good scent and it means I get to drink coffee after.

Basset
Clean cotton, one sniff and you're hooked! Go on, you know you want to...... MIL gave me the mint yankee candle for xmas. It says on the jar "our strongest scented candle" I for the life of me can smell nothing when its lit......my nose is usually very good. the mint one is pants! I recently bought two Yankee candles and found completely the opposite. The Christmas Eve scented candle was so overpoweringly strong it sent me to bed with a migraine!!!! The Mulled Wine candle is a nicer scent but too strong to burn for more than 30 mins.
Guest
i haven't stopped sneezing since i bought my candles, whether they're lit or not I still love them though
Snowy
Well my bargain childrens shoes turned out to be a bit of a lemon. Despite being asked several times if his were OK, Matthews rubbed blisters on his feet but only after he's worn them in the muddy park Anyway, took them back to the shop to show them and to buy the other pair that did fit him. I didn't expect any redress on the original pair as they were muddy and the bits that had rubbed him were blood stained. The shop were wonderful (not Clarkes, an independent shop). The owner gave me money of the new pair of shoes (£20 instead of £47!) and tweaked the others to trim and smooth the area that had caused the rubbing. IN ADDITION he gave me a note to confirm that, if the adapted shoes were still unusable, I would get £13 off any other pair of shoes bought from there! Fantastic customer service pays off - I'll go back there in future for the boys shoes!
