Snowy
I feel absolutely lousy I started with a slight cough and a sore throat yesterday - can cope with that. Now my nose is streaming, my head hurts and I have a horrible, hacking cough, I'm hot one minute, cold the next. But the sore throat is slightly better. I had so much planned for today as littlest boy and I have a free day, no nursery runs or groups to go to. Poor child is going to end up being babysat by a day of Thomas the Tank on TV. If it was an icy day I'd venture a walk to clear my head but it is just drizzling. Could I get away with a hot toddy at this time of day? (I'm thinking of the version with plenty of whisky ) Thanks for listening - just feeling sorry for myself!

Goosey Lucy
You go for it girl! Whatever gets you through the day. I've had my youngster at home for 4 days now, today I'm subjecting him to M&S as I have to find something to wear for my PTA emal tomorrow night. That will more than make up for endless Ceebeebies for the past 3 days!
Egluntyne
As it is for medicinal purposes you should have one every two hours.....as long as you don't have to pick the children up in the car!
Snowy
As it is for medicinal purposes you should have one every two hours.....as long as you don't have to pick the children up in the car! That does it then - school is across the road, so no car, I can just stagger out in my slippers and back again!
Tina C
Cheers Snowy - hope you feel better after that (set the alarm for two hours' time so you don't forget the next dose!)

chickencam
I am just recovering from a cold and found hot toddies made with brandy from the rather big bottle we got at Christmas made me feel a bit better, just add a splash of lemon and loads of honey. Have you got a nice blanket or throw and one of those beddy bears that you warm in the microwave, if so, warm bear make toddy take to sofa with blanket and child to cuddle and watch tv. Hope you feel better soon.
Tessa the Duchess
There is a saying "Never touch alcohol until the sun is over the yardarm" ..... Well, as there is no sight of the sun these days, and even if I knew what a yardarm is, I'm pretty sure you haven't got one so I would say it is absolutely fine to have a medicinal toddy when ever you want Hope you feel better soon. Lesley
I am just recovering from a cold and found hot toddies made with brandy from the rather big bottle we got at Christmas made me feel a bit better, just add a splash of lemon and loads of honey.. Snowy
Sleeping through school leaving time is a distinct possibility in this house! And thats without medicinal brandy/whisky! They finish at 3.05pm and I always seem to remember to look at the clock just in time and end up rushing out! (I only forgot once when I was cleaning out the hens and only looked at the watch at 3.20 ) Brandy in milk sounds good, might save that until after school just in case!
