chelsea
posting the name hazel has given me another idea, I adore the film Watership Down (and the book) and I know they are chickens not rabbits - but they are gorgeous names. Hazel Fiver Dandelion Blackberry Silver Pipkin Clover Acorn Holly Thistle Cowslip Snowdrop To go with your girls you could maybe have Blackberry for the black one, Acorn for the brown and Thistle for the lavender.....just an idea
asolomio
Im getting three tommorrow and they are going to be called Tabitha (black one) Marjorie (red one) Henrietta (light sussex) Well at least thats the plan
Olly
how eggciting ... you may find names just come to you when you see the chickens! Just remember, you'll be shouting these names down the garden, so don't choose anything too loopy if you don't want the neighbours thinking you've gone mad. (Talking to chickens, on the other hand, is entirely normal. )
MedusA
Treacle (black), Toffee (brown) and Candy Floss (Lavender) Hee hee! I have a Treacle and Toffee, so I naturally think they are great names!
Egluntyne
We had guineapigs called Treacle and Toffee. They were part of a threesome and the other one was called Cinnamon!
Yorkshire Pudding
Our guinea pigs are named after Star Wars characters. Chewbacca is a long-haired guinea pig, so was named after the hairiest SW character, and Wikkit was one of the Ewoks who were those forest-dwelling teddybear things. My two sons were responsible (and their uncle Andrew who is a SW fanatic). I named my two chickens after the 'ladies of a certain age' who used to visit my grandmother. I nearly named them after my mother (Mavis) and MIL (Rosemary) but although Mum was flattered, MIL wasn't impressed . Shame, Rosemary is a lovely name for a chicken! bronze
MIL wasn't impressed . Shame, Rosemary is a lovely name for a chicken! One of mine is names after my mil. She sknows but I never dared ask her opinion. All mine are in my family tree- I go back a generation each time I get more chickens
Yorkshire Pudding
That's a good idea - my Dad has been looking at our family tree so there's lots of inspiration there. I could have Nellie, Betty, Joan, Florence, Marie, Louisa, Susannah, Josephine...... Now all I need is to be 'allowed' some more chickens
