theherd123
Do you have any cabbages in your garden? If you dont, i do think it comes out of your belly button, not many people like cabbage so i think its not a veg that is grown often. Guest
I don;t have cabbages, but the roundabout at the bottom of the village has those ornamental cabbages growing on it just now - I assumed that you got girlies from the pretty purple ones, boys from the green ones..... hillfamily
Sorry Andrew.... I think the excess hormones are sending me ever so slightly so what excuse can the rest of use blowing a gale and pouring with rain all day down here - Millie bantie (very tiny about the size of a collared dove) nearly blew away today ..............in the end I tucked them all up nice and dry in their run with treats and ignored their clucks for freedom

I can see you now - delivering your new baby in the middle of a roundabout with ornamental cabbages growing in appropriately strategic places. Guest
Right in the middle of my beautiful brand new (we'd only been in the house a couple of months...) CREAM carpet. Had to spend hours with the carpet cleaner getting those particular stains out. I can almost guarantee that my waters will go in exactly the same spot. Anyway, It's STILL blowing a gale here, no snow, but local radio has just promised us more blizzards, as they work there way down from the Highlands, on their way down to you lot further South. Chookiehubbie is gutted, as he battled the weather to get home last night, in the hope he'd have to take a long weekend because of the snow. Egluntyne
I always dreaded the waters going in a public place. Mercifully they never did. Back to the weather. We have just had the most almighty hailstorm. Lasted about 10 mins. The noise was indescribable. Everywhere was completely white for a few mins .....and now it is as if it never happened. Ana's flock
Milton Keynes: bright sunshine, a bit windy right now... bit nippy but not a snowflake on sight. The boys are really looking forward to the snow and I think they'll be disappointed. The girls are making a racket in the garden... I think Kingston (the cockerel) is up to his games again... Spring is in the air, daffodils in bloom... AND I WANT TO HAVE SOME SNOW!!!
Egluntyne
Brilliant sunshine here now....but my word it is cold.
Yorkshire Pudding
Leeds - sunshine but the coulds are gathering and the wind is ICY. Off to get the shopping done before the (hopefully) deluge of lovely, soft, white snow giving me the perfect excuse to snuggle up and bake all weekend. I started this morning with raspberry muffins for the kids' breakfast. Might try a lemon drizzle a la Clare.... Any excuse not to write the 6000 words I have to hand in on Wednesday! ali-s
Gales here still. Very wet and windy. Trampoline now at the house end of the garden I watched it tumbleweed its way up the lawn and crash into the patio doors earlier on It is now very close to the chicken run, the girls are not impressed. I need to tie it to something but what I have had proper flu since last thursday and haven't got the strenght to tie shoe laces nevermind a 10 foot trampoline in a howling gale A good dollop of snow might weigh the trampoline down
