Guest
Because I was in danger of hijacking my own thread I thought I better start a new one. I've been on Lighterlife now since mid-september and it agrees with me to the point where the weight is falling off me, I've lost more weight than anyone else in my starting group. Mind you I had more to lose to start with but the loss remains at the same rate and I should hit my target of being a size 12 before the summer. I also think the counselling has helped immensely and so has abstinence from food. I'm sure I@ve broken myself of some terrible habits (175g bag of kettle chips EVERY evening as a snack!!! - large latte with full fat milk and SYRUP every morning!!) I havn't "cheated" as such. I made a decision that I would eat Christmas Dinner. Well what I meant by dinner was 4 florets of cauliflower and 4 sprouts. I didn't find it hard to go back to abstinence after that. My other "cheat" is when shopping I now have a small Americano with SKIMMED MILK! The milk isn't allowed but skimmed milk powder is one of the main ingredients of the food packs and on the weekend I never have all my foodpacks. Anyway - here are the pictures to date. This is when I started on Lighterlife, Wearing a size 26/28 top and a 24 in trousers. This is last week, wearing a size 16 top and a size 18 jeans. I've lost one pound short of 6 1/2 stone. I will keep going until I'm a size 12, which I was last at about age 12 or 13 and then I will re-introduce food.

Guest
Thank you all. The new wardrobe is very rotational - I wear things for about 6 weeks before I shrink out of them! Ebay has been VERY useful but now I'm smaller I'm finding more things in the charity shops. I bought a jacket today to shrink in to - its a size 14 and I@m still in a 20 for jackets - arms and shoulders are still large. But it WAS a bargain at £39 from £139! Guest
you are doing so well. You can really see it in your face and arms and you look so healthy.
Eyren
Well done indeed! I don't have anywhere near so much to lose, so LighterLife wouldn't suit me, but I understand how important it is to find the right diet. I'm not going to hijack your thread with ramblings about my own very modest weight loss, though - you deserve all the attention
Guest
Hey no weight loss is modest. Lighterlife didn't work for my aunt, she stuck rigidly to it and lost a pound a week, after 3 weeks she moved to weight watchers - where she loses a pound a week but it costs about £60 a week less! Well done anyone who manages to lose anything I say.

Eyren
Hey no weight loss is modest. Well done anyone who manages to lose anything I say. Thanks, Pengy! I'm doing FatLoss4Dummies - it's really aimed at the fast-food-gobbling US market, but with a bit of tweaking (adding in some ideas from Ruth Watson's "Fat Girl Slim" and Dr Marilyn Glenville's "Fat Around the Middle") it makes a very easy-to-stick-to diet, even for food lovers! I've lost six pounds in my first ten days, which is admittedly the easy bit - the next stone will be a lot harder! See you at size 12... Guest
I will see you there. When I'm done on abstinence they recommend a low GI diet so I'll try that for maintenance. I'm never putting it all back on again though - I just feel so much better, pretty much every day!
chelsea
I'll see you at size 12 aswell. I have been on weigh"Ooops, word censored!"chers and doing well now after a slow start.
Eyren
I tried a couple of low-GI diets from books but it was difficult to get my DH (a Scot) to stick to the modest carb levels, so it didn't work out as a weight loss diet. I think it would be OK for weight maintenance, though. My current regime has four carefully-planned meals a day which are mostly high in protein but not as low carb as Atkins. I make sure they are things I enjoy, so I don't feel too deprived, and the diet enforces variety so it's hard to get bored. Plus I get three days off a fortnight, which really helps! Olly
Well done Pengy, in fact I just checked your blog before logging on here, and saw the new photos. You look amazing - don't think I could stick to it, but it must be a great feeling to keep shrinking out of your clothes! Unfortunately it's the other way round for me ... my clothes keep shrinking! feemcg
Fantastic results so far Pengy - I really admire your determination and willpower. I just lo-carbed (again!) for 6 weeks and lost 11lb but this last week I've completely 'lost it', pigged out on carbs and feel rubbish . My OH just says "och, start again next week, here have another croissant" .

My OH just says "och, start again next week, here have another croissant" . He sounds just like my husband! And I know what you mean about feeling horrible after eating loads of carbs - I'm rather looking forward to the coming week's high-protein menus. Now if only my girls would lay a few more eggs so I can be sure of a good supply for breakfast...

riane
Well done Pengy, my friend at work has lost 3 and a half stone on lighter life before Christmas. She is now introducing food and finidng it quite challenging but is keeping the weight off. It was amazing watching her weight drop off. We named her the melting woman ...she was size 18 and now is size 12-14. You look amazing keep going

Shirl
You looked fantastic before I would never have said you were that big. Now you look stunning. I don't think I want to meet in summer, I'm still carrying my baby flab and she's 11 months . I'm a size 12 but at only 5ft 2 should be a 8/10 . Never mind I'll start to lose it soon
