Cate in NZ Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 I've not washed mine since Sunday, so it's only 4 days..... but that's 3 days longer than I expected to last I have been rinsing it with water daily though. It looks shiny, but I've got very fine and quite short hair, which looks very limp and flat if I don't use volumising products, hairdryer etc. etc. So far this week I've avoided all those, allowing it to dry naturally, so it is looking very flat, and whilst it doesn't look dirty, or smell, thank heavens, I do feel that I'm looking dreadful, and my scalp is getting a bit itchy, even though I've never suffered from an itchy scalp before Maybe it's psychological Hubby's home on Saturday for the weekend thopugh, so I'll hang it out until then, maybe try a vinegar rinse, but if I can't inject a bit of oomph into it somehow I think I'll chicken out, especially if he makes any negative comments (he doesn't know that I'm doing this). Back to work on Monday anyhow, and I'm not able, or willing , to face that place looking less than groomed Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also, Happymamma (thanks for excellent thread, what have you started! ) did suggest some people may use extra products, so maybe a bit of volumiser on the strands, would help. I'm sure the scalp will settle if you can give it a chance, but I do appreciate short hair must be harder to get started. Guest Posted March 17, 2006 Share Posted March 17, 2006 I've rinsed my hair with warm water this morning. Waiting now for it to dry, with fingers crossed for some improvement on yesterday! Will keep you posted! I was shocked to see how far down the list this thread had gone and the last post was only last night! Fridays are always busy on the forum! LSH said I smelt of vinegar last night so I've rinsed it really well with warm water today but although it looks absolutely fine, it's a bit itchy and feels quite thick and in need of a good shampoo! It feels quite thick and greasy on the top of my head although the rest of it is absolutely fine and feels really soft. I washed it with vinegar this morning, but it still feels like... urm... think it feels like I have put products on my hair and not washed them out properly, making it quit thick. Also - has anyone else had a problem with static, every time I brush my hair it goes REALLY static I'm supposed to be going out on Saturday night and normally have my hair down, I think it will have to be up this weekend though..... Guest Posted March 17, 2006 Share Posted March 17, 2006 Yes, Jackie, that's exactly how mine feels. I have put it up now, which looks tidier than usual with this new sleek and close-to-the-head look. I also last washed mine (with shampoo) on Monday. I don't have a problem with static though. Mine is probably less static than usual (all that grease? ). I just washed it through with hot water today as my theory was that vinegar would strip the oils and make it take longer to settle. He has only ever had 2 haircuts, one for summer and one for winter.
