your own office! how cool is that 8)

You can shut yourself in and watch the footy/come on the forum :wink:

I know how you feel with the doubt and stuff, its a big step isnt it. But suppose you wont really know unless you try something different, if you didnt you would be saying "if only" "i wish I'd"....etc

I'd never do that in my office :anxious:

Changing your job can be a scary experience - into the unknown and all that but if you're already unhappy where you are then you're already half way there (if you know what I mean  )

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :D

im thinking of complete career change now. Just been speaking to the homehelp woman who visits the elderly chap next door. She loves her job visiting and helping elderly people. The company she works for has vacancies and you need no experience. Im a cheery, jolly person and good with people so I think i would brighten someone's day.

What do you reckon?

Thanks for all your comments, you have really spurred me on. :D .....im not even thinking about that rotten company today!!!

As a Discharge Liaison Sister, I was involved with visiting people at home to assess them and meet their carers. Being a carer can be a very rewarding (emotionally, if not financially) job. You really make a difference to isolated elderly people. Go for it hon! :)

Sorry you didn't get the job, Chelsea, but if their attitude to letting you know is anything to go by, you are better off NOT working for a company like that! :x

*hugs*

here here, you're much too good for them, its funny how the right job comes along in the end, good luck for the future

Think positive. Wow them with your chicken knowledge

I put it on my application form :lol:

Told them I do hen parties and im nuts about chooks. Maybe they will deem im a tad mad at the interview and send me packing!!

Not at all, you reflect a growing trend in back garden chicken keeping (isn't it meant to be the fastest growing hobby in this country or something :? ) that a great many vets seem to be sadly lacking in expertise about. You will be a huge asset to them with your chicken knowledge, your passion for animals and your lovely, friendly personality, not to mention your experience in customer services and communication skills with people in all kinds of emotional states. This one has got your name all over it Chelsea :D:D:D

Best of luck Chelsea.

Just make sure you tell them about how good you are with people as well as animals, - in case their priority is for someone to look after the people while they look after the animals.

You've obviously wowed them with your application form so you're half way there already.

I agree with Rona, that you should stress your love of humans and animals! The receptionist at our vets is a star at putting anxious owners at their ease and it really makes the difference.

Good luck Chelsea! You will be wonderful in a vets surgery!!!

As the others have said, focus on customers service and animals. Ability to deal with all walks of life and calm under pressure (distressed owners etc).

You will walk it, I promise!
