KimW
Have been giving the chickens 'Garlic Granules' in their feed to stop the poo smell! Went down to them this morning and all I can now smell is garlic Will the eggs start to have a hint of garlic to them and taste a bit garlicy now? Egluntyne
What sort of garlic granules? I use garlic powder....as sold for horses... and it has not tainted the eggs. Edited April 19, 2008 by Guest

Ain't Nobody Here
I use garlic powder - no smell at all (except when you're adding it) . Must be the granules .
Paola
Have heard that the eggs when cooked smell like pizza express when you use garlic powder a lot

Egluntyne
It's the horses garlic granules.............should I have bought the powder then? A bit of *googling* seems to show that they are essentially the same. Perhaps of you put half the amount in it might be enough.
Trish
In summer my Eglu can smell like a busy night in Pizza Hut but we've never tasted it on the eggs.
KimW
I'll put less in next time. How much do you think is enough to go into two grubs for 9 hens and how often?
Guest
our girls don't smell of garlic etc but the garden shed (where we keep all their bits and pieces) hums something chronic!
superjules
I normally put about a teaspoon and a half per kilo of pellets. I don't know how much I'm supposed to be using though!
KateP
I usually add about one level teaspoon every time I fill the grub.
