Swiss Chick
I need to share this with you. Two days ago my bantam babe Gwendolyn laid a soft shell egg. Well this can happen and after reading up the various subjects around soft shelled eggs I didn't worry anymore. The next moring I fed the chickens and in there run lay the itziest teeniest little egg you can possibly have. Around 1 cm long and 1 cm wide. It looked like.... well....like she just f...ed the egg. But it is full of someting (I havent't cracked it open yet). Anybody with someting similar happening. Bantam eggs only weigh about 25-30 gr. this one is only about 5 gr light
The Dogmother
Wow, that's special Sonja. I'd be superstitious about cracking it - do please let us know what's in it when you do.

Swiss Chick
Thanks Annie P for putting the picture in. Have cracked the little egg open today. It was a real egg with a tiny eggyolk and eggwhite in it. The kids were very surprised. After two days wait Gwendolyn has laid a "propper" egg today. Swiss Chick
C'om Martin, I said it was tiny.....meaning really really tiny, would not even give you half a mouth full but seriously I dont' think such an egg would taste good. It smelled ok though.
Martin B
Didn't you eat it?
Swiss Chick
NO ! would you eat a really really tiny egg?
The Dogmother
It's gorgeous Sonja, so wee and tiny. Is that photo against another bantam egg? If so then it's really small.
Swiss Chick
Yes it is Clare, so really only about 1 cm long and wide that's why I would not really want to eat it as Martin has suggested. But what I would loooove to know is wether anyone has had this happening to them before. So far "Ooops, word censored!"ody has told me anything. Martin B
NO !would you eat a really really tiny egg? Well you could use it with another for fried eggs!
motherhen
When I first read your post I assumed it was an egg with no yolk - but to have an egg that small with a mini yolk as well - that is a first as far as I'm concerned. I've never seen anything like that before
