We had to make the same decision with Clarry and it's heartbreaking but you know when you've reached the point where nothing can help her and it is the most loving thing you can do even though it's painful for you. It's better that they come to you as it will mean that she's not stressed at all and will be comfortable in familiar surroundings. The Dogmother Posted June 9, 2008 Author Share Posted June 9, 2008 Well, she had a lovely day in the sun, pottering around the flowers. The vet came this evening and quietly dispatched her while she lay in my arms and we all stroked her and talked to her. I felt her flutter away to be a chicken angel and then she was at peace. We all shed tears while Phil helped to bury her with her friends - the original first chickens have now all gone and the three musketeers are all together again. We secured the grave again and decorated with with the loveliest flowers from the garden. Phil took some last photos this afternoon and I will post them when I get a moment.
