Cate in NZ
Wow, that looks fantastic. What a brilliant birthday gift . You were lucky with the weather too from the looks of things. Those chicken rinds didn't look all that secure.....those pallet structures were just for shade weren't they . Mr Fox would be into one of those in a blink of an eye Thanks for posting the pics, absolutely gorgeous. What did Hugh cook? Did it taste good? Creamy Spinach, whole Carrots, Crushed Potatoes. Pudding Elderflower Panacotta with Strawberries & Short Bread. Champagne on arrival, Tea & Coffee at the end of the evening. Nearly all of the above items were from various parts of River Cottage.

Janty
Were they lemon pekins? Depends on what size they are. Hard to tell from photo as there is nothing to help judge the size. Same shape as pekins. If they were larger they could be cochins or Orps depending on whether the legs are feathered or not.. Snowy
Looks fantastic! Love his hen house as well - his idea is that the hens can get up the rickety stairs, but they won't hold a foxes weight Brilliant!
Janty
OOPs. Cross posting and editing. Looked more like pekins or cochins. My buff Orp doesn't look that puffy round the tail area.
Janty
Were they full sized or miniature Orps?
