I had to cancel sports day this morning... Wasn't raining heavily but the track was wet and slippery. Can't say that it was a great shame for me except we have to do it next Wednesday instead now....

Come to Denmark then! We've got sunshine, blue sky and little fluffy white clouds! A bit too much wind to make it "gorgeous" but my favourite kind of weather.

 

Went to see Bon Jovi play in a field far from everything on Thursday night. He mentioned the fact that it was still bright sunshine at 10pm!

 

Love this time of the year apart from the fact that I can't get the kids to go to bed when it's still light!

I'm tempted to put the heating on.

 

I can remember a debate on the forum last year about whether the longest day was 20th or 21st.

 

I think we decided it was a bit of a moveable feast.

"Mid summer day" , the "longest day" or whatever is always significant for me, I just don't like it when the evenings start to get darker ever so slightly earlier

My friend has got a pagan wedding going on today. We're not there for the jumping around in a circle bit in the rain though

I have a bad knee and have just lugged myself around the supermarket to get the food in...so.. I am thinking about putting the log burner on and sitting and vegging out for a while in front of the tv.

 

(hubby had a headache and was in bed) theres me limping around pushing a full trolley almost in tears with my 10 year old helping me and him in bed... he's not got any brownie points for that one!

Cold, wet and horrible here today, and I refuse point blank to put the heating on it went off for summer in May and I will suffer in extra clothes till at least the end of September
