I don't suppose anyone would like to help me find a suitable pic for my labels for my produce etc

What about incorporating a photo of your ex batts soon after release and another of them looking healthy and happy as they are now so you can educate as well as feed the people .

I'm doing a board with some photos of our girlies to put on the stand and I'll get some BHWT leaflets to put on the stall too.

 

I just need a simple logo for the labels to go on the jars etc.

 

Photos of the girls wouldn't reproduce well on a small label unfortunately.

I haven't got time to do much at the mo hun, but if you let me know I'll sort something out for you. I can set up some labels for you as pdfs and you can bring them into word, add your own info and then just print them off on your own printer and cut them down.

Or have a play on words on Be, & have a lable with buzzy bees on

I would come with you in a heartbeat. I think you will have a great time, getting friendly with other stallholders, spreadiing the word about battery hens, and maybe even making a bit of money Nothing to be scared about.

You'd have to be careful of using any existing image from the internet as it will probably have a copyright attached to it.

I know a few artists who might do a design for me anyway but it's on hold at the moment or I might not bother with a picture at all.

 

It's more complicated than I thought it would be. There's a lady that sells jams at my local farmers' market who I've been chatting to and she's given me some background info and suggested I make lemon curd for her and help her on her stall to get some experience.

 

I'm getting quotes on public liability insuranace at the moment and waiting for my local environmental health bods to phone me back to give me some advice. Just so I have an idea of costs and what's involved if I do actually start out on my own.

 

I've had one quote for PLI which works out at about £13 a month (for £5million cover) or about £7 a month (for £1million cover), then you've got transport costs, cost of a stall, cost of ingredients and packaging....

 

I don't know how anyone actually makes a living out of doing it to be honest!???

 

Anyway, I can pick the jam lady's brains when I help her out.
