My Pink Cube should be delivered today!! PHOTOS ADDED 24/07

Recommended Posts

Just waiting for it now - though don't know what time it's coming!

OH is having a day off so he can put it together. When it comes I am going to go out with 14yr old son, so I can't hear him swearing etc!!!!(OH not son!)

Just got to decide whether to sell eglu straight away or not - we only have a small garden, so no room to store really.......decisions, decisions!

Hi everyone - can't believe how long it has taken!!!!

OH was fine putting the Cube together but the run and extension drove him mad! We decided to landscape around the area, so have planted a lovely purple acer and some lavender between the run and the dec board on one side. Tomorrow we will buy some plum slate to put around the plants, so when the lavender grows it should look blended into the garden.

We have decided to sell the elgu as we really cannot justify the space in the garden for it - as we have put the Cube slightly further up the garden, we now have a patch where some of the eglu used to be - so it is a toss up between a wooden playhouse for daughter (6.5) or hot tub - guess which one gets my vote!!!!!!!!

We have a girl from Belarus staying with us and daughter is still at school, so today has been a very busy, run around, raking chicken poo kinda day

Off to sit on the patio with a long glass of southern comfort and lemonade with OH and watch the chickens find their way into their new palace (hopefully!).

Will post some pictures tomorrow. :D

It looks fantastic!! On another note, is your girl over c/o the Cher"Ooops, word censored!"yl Childrens Lifeline? We were supposed to be having two girls this year but we've had trouble financially so couldnt do it and I feel awful, we did it the last two years though and it was absolutely brilliant if not exhausting.

Yes she will have been here 2 weeks on Monday, she is here for 4. It has taken a little time to settle, initially she was home sick, but then crying quite deliberately in front of me all the time that she wasn't occupied.

I was getting a bit frustrated and started to doubt my 'mothering' skills. She then started being quite curt with the children - so I took her into a room and gave her a talking to (not acceptable behaviour, we have welcomed her into our home, her mother wouldn't want her being rude etc) and it has worked wonders!

She is now being a pleasant young girl who is fitting into our family life

nicely. We can tease her a little and have a joke and she takes it all in her stride, so if it carries on like this it will be a very enjoyable experience.... and I agree very exhausting! It is amazing how just adding 1 more person (we were 5 now are 6) makes so much more cooking, washing, shopping etc.

I wouldn't worry about not doing it this year - the fact you have done it for the last 2 years is a fanatastic acheivement. :D

Thanks for asking how it's going and indeed even remembering. :D
