craftyhunnypie
Finally got round to uploading pics of my chicks. The first is of Poppet, the lonely little Lavender Araucana chick I had to help out at the final stage. Poppet couldn't quite flip the egg top off. But had managed to cut round the egg no problem. Poppet after drying out. The next photo is of Poppet and friends taken on Thursday at 1week old. I went & got Poppet 2 friends from Creag Mhor Poultry after 2 days. They were hatched the same day as Poppet & are definite Pullets. The Goldline is called Anneka (after Anneka Rice) & The Black Rock is called Heli (after Helicopter). They are beautiful & Poppet is just starting to a hairdo now - looks a bit like a cone head! Enjoy & I know you'll all go Awwwwww! craftyhunnypie
I think Poppet has the start of a mohican & Heli the black rock is so greedy. Her tiny crop is always bulging at night. They jump on Teddy's head waiting to be picked up for cuddles - it's so funny & they now do the chicken dance & dustbathe in the shavings! Think this will be my last hatch of the year - next hatching will be in the Spring now - probably with the pekins & my frizzle cockerel - Although Araucana chicks are probably the cutest chicks I've seen so far - got a soft spot for Cochins too.
