Loved Harry Hill's version of Diana. I can't believe that they are going to give this lot Hallelujah to prepare for the attempt at Christmas no. 1. I'm not sure I'll be able to stomach it. Ruth and Alex were outstanding - they are both versatile (Alexandra probably more so than Ruth) and they can both perform on stage. Diana and JLS need to get out before they are stereotyped forever as X factor wannabees. Owen (still can't spell it) is good but needs to get a few more years under his belt. If anyone other than Alex wins this now, well, I really will be speechless! If she is as good as the media makes her out to be then why can't she sing live? A good singer never lip syncs in my opinion. Fair play to Miley though, she is only 16 (been doing my research ) and sung live, not very well, but still. But she can't dance for toffee. Ok, now for the finalists. Ruth didn't deserve to go, she has the better voice but Eoghan is more appealing cuteness -wise. I personally LOVE Diana's voice, but I think the producers have picked up on her unique twang and emphasised it in any given opportunity (e.g at the end of every sentence.) The public liked her messy hair and hippy look, so once again, it was emphasised. Sorry to bring it up again, but I have to mention it. On the first live show Diana didn't wear shoes because she couldn't walk in the heels the producers had given her, so she went bare foot. The public liked this as part of the hippy look, so she didn't wear shoes for the next few weeks until everyone decided it was all a bit fake . So for her "call me" Blondie performance she wore shoes and stayed sat down for most of the performance (she then got bashed for not dancing ), but when she had to go off stage, you can see she struggled to walk in them. The moral of the story is that you can't win. I feel sorry for everything she has had to put up with. I don't think the programme is a fix at all, the media has just blown things way out of proportion. Yes- she sang Hallelujah but all of the contestants have a list of songs to choose from, and unfortunately for her, she was the only one who chose that one. Absolutely loved Alexandra, what a star. She is the only one that has everything, brilliant voice, dance ability and from the looks of it a thoroughly nice girl. Still can't stand Diana. Hubby liked her second song though. JLS were just alright and thats the trouble with them. I don't think they have done a really stand out song - Louis's fault I think. Eoghan just doesn't have a strong enough voice at the moment. Britney was rubbish. Why couldn't she sing live? The amateurs all managed it. I think they've taken all the little quirks that made Diana different and good and blew them up soo big and overemphasised them so much it annoying people who liked her at the start.
