Ain't Nobody Here
This morning I nipped into a tiny Tesco (never normally shop there, honest, just needed bread & milk ). They have an equally tiny car park - about 10 spaces. I parked in the last space next to the wall, did my shopping, came back to find that somebody had parked completely blocking my exit . A nice chap parked next to me said he had seen a woman leaving her car there. I waited for 5 minutes, fuming. No sign. So I went up to the Starbucks next to Tesco and shouted in a loud voice "anyone parked a grey "something" (forgotten make!) in Tesco's carpark?". No answer. Went back and waited another 10 minutes. The bloke next to me needed out and only managed with a lot of difficulty and my help. Then, along she comes. I said "I'm sorry, but do you realise the trouble you've caused parking there? You've blocked me in". She just shrugged and got into her car . I grabbed her door and said "there's a reason that's not marked as a space". She said "So what? I was only 3 minutes. And you weren't even in Tesco's", pulled her door shut and started driving off. She then made a stupid face at me, waggling her shoulders as if she was repeating my words in a silly voice . I did the mature thing, and gave her the v's as she drove off . Bloke next to me had waited (probably to check I didn't deck her ) so was sympathetic but neither of us could do anything. Sorry for the rant, but I was shaking with anger (and I'm not an angry person, generally). I'm over it now, but wonder why some people are so rude and inconsiderate these days? lisa33
How Rude!!!! I can totally sympathise with just how you were. Have a glass of wine, chill out and wait for karma to get her.
alexgirl73
Poor you. It can be so bloody infuriating can't it? I've had it happen to me on a number of occasions Lisa gives very good advice
Yolky
Karma will bite her on her moronic butt. Honestly she must be right up her own bum if she thinks that she can block folk in.
clootie
I've had the red mist descend too ANH and I'm normally a calm, easy going kinda gal. I felt such fury I could have caused serious damage to another person (a minor too ), it made me feel quite ill for days afterwards. I burst into tears when I got home. It was a horrible experience and one I won't forget. My son was assaulted as he was on his way back to meet me in a shop. I'm glad my DH didn't witness it as I would have been baking a cake with a file in it for him!! Anyway, deep breaths, don't let her get under your skin. Not worth it. Have another glass of wine !! WitchHazel
I don't understand why people have to do that. My next door neighbour's visitors constantly block us in, and it drives me mad. I get even madder when they take ages to come and move the car when we ask them to, I used to fantasise about having an old banger that I could use as a tank to push them out of the way... but of course I'd be in the wrong then. chickenlass
Sorry shouldn't laugh but there is another reason not to shop at Tesco! I have suffered something similar inthe past myself and got a lot of verbal from a fella who had blocked me in. It really shakes you up doesn't it. Hope you have calmed down a little and can still enjoy your evening. Hopefully she will have got a flat tyre on her way home.
SarahJo
Hopefully what goes around - . Don't waste too much time being upset over it - she is obviously a very selfish and self-absorbed person - not nice, and not worth any more thought. Glad you aired your rant - always best to get words of support and remember not all peeps are like that.
Cooks
I hope she got a puncture on the way home sorry wouldn't normally but I hate people who shrug their shoulders like that

Looney
OOh how infuriating Hope you have calmed down and like others say, you can only pray for karma to even things up! I used to live right next door to Brentford FC and people used to park in our private car park on match days. Drove me MAD!. One car blocked me in on a day I absolutely had to use my car and had an appointment that I really couldn't miss. Luckily some helpful policemen helped me out by bumping the offending vehicle out of the way!
susanbb
Tesco car parks annoy me because those who genuinely need to use disabled bays are not able to do so because those people who feel it is their right do so. There we go "mini rant"over
Stevie
but wonder why some people are so rude and inconsiderate these days? Cos i guess her IQ is still in single figures..! Some people think they can park where they like and you should have shoved a potato up her exhaust-her car would have conked out after 20 seconds which might have give you enough room to get your car out... Olly
Oh I do sympathise ... I am normally calm even when other people are going into meltdown, and I hate confrontation but there's something about parking that turns me into a madwoman - thank heavens you can't carry guns in this country, because I swear that if I lived in the US I'd have shot someone by now! It's as if a red mist descends ... I am so conscious of where and how I park, would not DREAM of blocking anyone else in ... what makes people think they've got a right to leave their car anywhere they choose? I can feel the blood-pressure rising, I need to go and lie down ... all I can say ANH is that I too believe in karma. I hope she got a puncture and doesn't carry a spare tyre! Tina C
I was trying to avoid reading this as I start to get wound up just reading about how inconsiderate and rude people are. Hope you are feeling a bit better now. I need a glass of wine now too. And that's it - I am reading no more posts with 'rant' in the title. Cate in NZ
Oh, ANH I sympathise, I'd have been steaming from the ears as well . I do wonder what some makes some people so arrogant and self absorbed.....why on earth was her desire to park so important that it over-rode any recognition of the fact that she was blocking you in . I've had it happen to me at some of my son's football matches, hugely annoying, but at least in that environment it's not too difficult to track down the offending owner. Anyway, hope the wine helped , and that you're all nicely chilled now

little cluckers
I frequently embarrass my family on occasions like that as the red mist descends and I just sit in the car with my hand firmly on the hooter and wait! (very loudly)
Lisa
I hope that you feel better now. When my children were small I was just about to use one of the children/parent parking spaces when a young single person pulled into it cutting me off. I got out and said that these spaces were for parents with small children and the reply I got was unrepeatable! I did complain to the shop staff and that was also a tesco's car park. However, I think about all the times when I have been surprised by people being extra kind, helpful, polite and friendly and this tends to put a smile back on my face. Wine is good too! Guest
I hate parking. My car is too big to fit into a lot of the undersized spaces, so I go for parent with child or disabled. I only use disabled if Mum is actually with me although I keep a badge in the car (I did once use it in a regular space as it was free parking with blue badge and I didn't have the right money for the machine, this was night time in Southend when I think charging for street parking is a con anyhow!). I started to wonder though how young a child should be - helpfully Asda have now defined this as "under 12". Mind you I think I'll feel very dodgy parking in a parent with child when James is in Secondary school (he is a June boy!). It does get my goat when people who should use the spaces do use them though. I also like that in supermarkets people are flexible. When I was pregnant I had symphis pubis dysfunction and walking was a big problem as I was in a lot of pain, I found that parking in a disabled space at Tesco was no problem as there was always a member of staff around to chat to about it and ensure I wasn't ticketed. People who double park though should be shot. Dont' start me on that. I've already had one problem at my new school where it is common. I went there for a day and when I came out someone was parked in front of me. I thought I could get round her by going over the kerb but as I was faffing around with seat belt, phone, sat nav etc she came back to her car and drove off. Then I got a call from someone at the school as she has said I hit her car! Well I hadn't moved my car - which was a few weeks old at the time and in pristine condition. Of course I have no way now of proving this and she could be someone who is regularly parked in that car park - where I will be parking daily! Paola
The ignorance of people I used to go out with a guy who drove a long wheel base Land Rover Defender with a winch on the front and it had been known for him to shove (not with people in it) cars out of the way if he was blocked in
