Hands up if you're back to school tomorrow?

Recommended Posts

I know Scotland went back already and I guess it's mostly us staff as most schools have a training day 1st Sept, at least they do here!

My James is back tomorrow as well as his school has all of their training days the week after Whitsun.

I'm starting my new job :anxious::anxious: We have 2 training days. There is also a 2 hour lunch tomorrow to "celebrate" the fantastic results (only 55% inc English & Maths, seen better...) The lunch is at a local place and I've just phoned up and special ordered mine (glad I did - the veggie was of course lasagne - can anyone cook ANYTHING else for veggies???). I've ordered a cheese salad.

I havn't done any of the work I should have done - doesn't worry me as I know I always get motivated in the first few weeks, might worry them though but the stuff the asked me to look at was SOOOO boring who needs homeworks for GCSE courses which have to be done in school???. I'll get it done during the school week, I always seem to manage somehow.

I've also got to pack some boxes of stuff to take, my special keyboard & mouse, books and all that stationary I seem to have been buying up for the past 2 weeks.

oooooh it's exciting isn't it? Or is it just plain scary???

:(

We are back tomorrow. The monsters return on Wednesday. We have two training days including one on 'School safe' or in other words how we can restrain the thugs safely in order to stop them hurting other people or destroying everything around them.

My son doesn't go back to school until 10th September.

Jammy piglet. Not that I'm jealous or anything!

 In tomorrow - to settle in the geckos and feed fish etc. Have been in over the hols anyway for plant and animal maintenance, so not really a first day for me. Inset on Tuesday, then all the students are back in on Weds. :P .

Ben and Joe go back on Weds - and have 2 days of Football camp to go to, lucily for me, so I can get on in peace :lol:

My two not back till Thursday !! It's been a fast 8 weeks - seems to go faster every year. I miss them when they go back. I quite like having them at home.

hrmph only got 5 weeks and 3 days. I don't like being at home doing the Mum thing - I'm better with stroppy teens than stroppy littles.

Next summer will seem like no break - I have a 2 week holiday booked and I'm also planning to nip to Belgium for some cosmetic surgery - its going to be my 40th present! But recovery will take a couple of weeks so will wipe out the hols - which is why I have to wait till summer to get it done!

I start back tomorrow, we have one trainig day before the students arrive. More of this y7 than ever before have SEN, so I expect a busy first few weeks for our department while we get them settled.

My own sproglets don't go back until Wednesday. I'm going to miss them, I like being at home with them in the holidays.

Enjoy your new job Pengy!

My eldest son starts school on Thurs :( . His young brother is going to miss him so much in nursery. Even whilst he was off at home with shingles he was asking for his older brother.

At least I'll get some one to one time now with my youngest which I've never had.

I just know on Thurs morning I'm going to have floods of tears from my eldest. It took him ages to settle into Kindergarten and now he's got to go through it all again with big school and he is only going to know 1 other boy in his class :(.

Bless them, I don't like it when the holidays end :( But I must admit it is bliss not having them bickering all day (ours went back last Thursday). Trouble with return to school is that, for me, it signals the start to birthday planning. I now have three birthdays to arrange in the next 5 weeks - exceptionally bad timing or what!:lol:

I think you're right Lisa, we never really had a summer

DD is back on Thursday - as she is a new year 7 she has one day just with her year group, one when the year 11s join them and then the rest of the school, including DS, go back on Monday. DD is not happy :?

We are planning on going to a theme park on Wednesday, probably with the rest of the South, all thinking that it will be quite quiet because most of the schools are back

Back to school for me tomorrow as well. I share the slight dread of returning to work. I don't have my timetable yet (apparently special needs were super difficult to fit in) which doesn't bode well. I always think the anticipation of the autumn term is worse than the term itself - still - must be almost half term!!!

Can't believe how many teacher's are on here!! I'm back tomorrow, we have two training days - one to learn about a new comp. system - I'm bound to be useless!

I should be preparing S.O.W now instead of being on here - perpetual guilt eh?!
