AnnieP
I have won two things in my life worth mentioning: The first was a hot air balloon flight when I was about 13. I was too scared to go up in it and gave it to my cousin to go instead. Last year I was dragged kicking and screaming to Gala Bingo. I have never played bingo before: I must be a real s"Ooops, word censored!", thinking it is "common". My "friends" thought it would be good for me to have the experience...... I won £180! Have never been back since: Cut your loses and run is my motto......

Jules.
I got the competition bug about 13 years ago when I kept winning our local free paper's comps- think I was the only one who entered them. Big ones that I won elsewhere are- I won a 4 night break to Centerparcs, £200 to spend on an on-line book club, & hubby once won a Gold red letter day worth £1000- we spent it on a personal shopping spree in Kendals in Manchester

Guest
I won a weeks holiday in New York, all expenses, theatre tickets and £500 spending money - from the Chris Tarrant breakfast show. Couple of years later I had another holiday off him - Madrid this time! When he started on Millionaire my friends were all convinced I'd end up going on there and winning as I had such a good record with CT - I must've spent a small fortune trying! I've also won all sorts of small things, I won a printer once that was just delivered with no note or anything - I@m waiting some chicken poop lip balm from Omlet from the Newsletter comp (Anyone spotted me this month??) Egluntyne
I won a couple of hundred quid on the lottery a few years ago and when I was a child I won a massive bottle of whisky on a tombola stall at a sumer fete thingy. It was as big as I was.
Yorkshire Pudding
I won a chris Tarrant comp when I was 17 and he was still doing the breakfast show on Capital Radio. The competition was to build a radio studio in a matchbox. A group of us built one 'studio' each and put them together to make the whole building, complete with 'Flying Eye' over the top. The prize was a visit to the station and two of us appeared briefly on the show. He was really nice!
lisa33
I have had a couple of good wins. VIP tickets to an "Ooops, word censored!"nal Champions League game at Highbury a few years ago. Louise
I have won quite a few radio competitions I have several mugs and CD's from them all local stations There used to be one on Fox FM in Oxford called I've started so I'll finish which played the first and last note of a song which was on when my radio alarm went off and for some reason half asleep I was very good at it and won it 3 times On the last occasion the caller got it wrong the morning before so it rolled over to the next day so I dialled the studio number the night before so i could just press redial to get through I got through and won the song was Tori amos Cornflake Girl The biggest prize I won waas a trip to London to the filming of the Pepsi Chart show (is that still on ) Me and a friend got a tour of the local station plus train tickets to London and a night in a hotel with spending money and VIP entry to the filming and boy was it a disappointment You were herded like sheep as there were so few people there and we had to pretend the acts were coming in as it has been recorded earlier in the week the number 1 was Robbie Williams Millenium he sent a recorded meaasag and the only live act was Lutricia McNeill who was okay but left before the end of filming so we never even got to meet her The backstage VIP bit was just lots of bouncers trying to hit on the pretty girls in the group Me and Amanda (my Pal) got a taxi back to the hotel and spent the spending money on room service and the mini bar Having said that I was on telly with Doctor Fox with his arms round me as we 'watched' Alishas Attic go on stage He was introducing them and me and Amanda were either side
Mrs Webmuppet
We won a weeks holiday to Quebec a long time ago ( pre Little Miss Webmuppet), Air Canada flights, 5 star hotel, half board and a hire car, they even upgraded the insurance so I could go horse riding ( I'd always wanted to have a go at riding Western style). Little Miss Webmuppet won a brand new Topper sailing dinghy two years ago and had it presented to her by the boss of the RYA . Her pic and interview were in the sailing press at the time.........she still claims she's famous . She's still too little to sail it so I sail it for the time being and we are looking at buying her a dinghy thats more her size (a Laser Bug). As for useless prizes I once won a pair of ski goggles that were way too big for me!
MedusA
I have won a few things over the years:_ £10 on the premium bonds Double album of "The Who" on vinyl Transistor radio Awful compilation album of dance songs from Capital Radio Qualcast Electric Lawnmower (that was the biggest win). It was a great lawnmower and I had it for many years until I gave up my lawn to the girls last year, so I sold it on eBay. DD won a great prize when she was 7. It was to be the mascot for the San Fancisco 49ers at the American Bowl match held at the "old" Wembley stadium. She got to go on the pitch wearing a mini football kit and shake hands with her heroes, before watching them beat the Washington Redskins in the last few seconds of the match, from VIP seats. It was a great weekend as we got to go with her, stay in a posh London hotel and get driven to the ground in a stretch limo. All expenses paid. KimmyCustard
Wow, you're all really good at this ! I won £800 at my first go at Bingo when I was with first husband, he wasnt impressed that it was half the prize money as we had to share it with another lady (another reason I left him!) I won tickets to the cinema in May from our local radio station (96.4 Eagle radio) for guessing the name of the celebrity who's birthday it was that day (Vicky Entwhistle). Also won a bottle of champagne after an arm wrestle with a customer I was meant to be serving whilst working at Epsom Downs racecourse! Got £150 as an award from work after helping a kidnapped girl AND A CERTIFICATE! Get me! Kimmy x

jlo
You can't leave it there Kimmy, I want to know about the kidnapped girl Are you one of those meddling kids in the Mystery Mobile? Kimmy - all just too intriguing. Being very nosy but would love to hear more of the story. On the prizes thread - the only time I ever came first out of a raffle, they decided to go backwards and give the not so good prize first. I tried to argue that this was unfair as I then did not have a chance at winning the main prize - but to no avail I therefore won a t-shirt and the last person to be drawn won a full set of Mizuno Golf Clubs. ( I do play golf so this would have been a very good prize!) I had a prize letter in Olive Magazine which won me some delish meat' a carving board and some steak knives. Oh, and a year's pass to the local cinema and I can't even remember entering the competition for that
KimmyCustard
Min, No I'm not a Thelma or a Daphne, would be more exciting if I was! I work for the police and spent a night duty on the phone to a girl alledging she had been kidnapped but didnt know where she was being held. We searched and had almost the entire Borough looking for her, dogs, helicopters, men, women, Coastguard, etc etc. I had to keep her on the phone so we could trace her. To cut a VERY long story short, it turned out she had mental health issues and a grudge against an ex-boyfriend who didnt want to see her anymore! Therefore, she wasnt kidnapped and was arrested whilst out shopping the next day. Naughty girl. Shame she wasnt given the bill for the personnel used that night! I was commended for my part in it and put the lolly towards a new car! Kimmy x

Snowy
Brilliant winnings peeps! I once won a radio competition - they played 3 songs and asked what they had in common. I recognised them as from car commercials and won a bundle of LPs by groups I'd never heard of Did get heard on live radio sounding like a complete dork as I could hardly amswer the DJs questions I was so nervous OH recently won a pair of tickets to the Proms in the Park this weekend, but had to give them away as we couldn't go
