it's dark and I can't see it, ****pics added****

our cube arrived today :D a day early!

Ian started putting it together this afternoon but I had to go to the hospital and by the time I got back, it was in situ but too dark to see it properly :(

Ian said it doesn't seem to be faded at all (we were told it was) and the roof seems to fit perfectly (no gaps).

I can't take any pics until t'row afternoon as it's too dark out there but from what I can, it's lovely and I think it will make our lives a lot easier!

I also really like the green and am kind of glad I didn't get the blue now although the blue is nice

oh, Jules, it has got the plastic roosting bars after all :lol:

well, the girls were quite shocked to see they had to negotiate a ladder this morning! Maud was first and slithered and flapped her way down, then Fatima followed but the other 2 weren't so sure. In the end I had to open the roof and egg port and lift them out but it was so much easier than bending down and fiddling with the old wooden coop.

When I opened the roof I could see what I thought were drops of water all over the roosting bars and I thought "Oh great, it leaks!" but when I looked closer they were an imprinted pattern of little eggs on the plastic

unfortunately, I can't do any pics til Ian gets home later with his camera phone so laters!!!!

looks really good poet, especially with your plants around it. :D

I especially like their "inner hall" area....

If it were me I would be tempted just to leave it as slabs and put their dustbath under the cube (to keep it dry) and then if they kick mud out you can just sweep it up and it doesnt get mixed in with the aubiose in the main run. (just an idea!)

Are you pleased?

yes, we left the porch area so they could wipe their feet as they came in from outside ;)

Ian thinks we should leave it bare so he can just hose any poop away but it looks so, well, bare :? They tend to dust bathe in the main run. I think I'll get some green pots to tart up the skirting maybe

I have to say, we are pleased as it's already proving easier to maintain. No more bending down to poo pick and collect eggs etc. I loved the look of my old wooden set up but the cube looks nice too and once I've pimped it a bit, I'll love it just as much as my old coop

I thought that aswell, especially with winter coming aswell as unlike your main run I expect it will get a bit more wet in the cube run, so you would save money on aubiose aswell. Maybe leave it un covered until Spring?
