bronze
And Reynard took Ellen back with him Shes mummy to my chick who though of course no longer a chick does look a bit lost without her. She was such a good mum. Either that or it was next doors jack russel and theyre not owning up cos the the trail of feathers goes under the hedge to their side. Ain't Nobody Here
Oh no . I'm so sorry . Can you find out for sure? You'll need to know whether to worry about foxes or next door's dog otherwise (although both are obviously a threat ).
bronze
I'm pretty sure it was a fox as next doors dog doesnt do things quietly and also theyre very nice neighbours so it would be out of character for them. The chap would have probably come round in tears if it had been hes such a softy when it comes to animals.

bronze
Thank you for all your sympathy. I'll move that across to the fact my male quail has karked it BUT I have found Ellen. I thought I had looked everywhere. She has in fact gone through that hole in the hedge and about 4 metres up along underneath it to behind the built run I only saw her when I moved the eglu in the run. Shes obviously gone broody on me as there are a couple of eggs that have rolled down the slope too. Little madam Seems happy enough though I'll have to go and ask those nice neighbours if I can go and get her as I now cant get to her from my side.
