Egluntyne
Anyone watch this last night? Bizarre, but I couldn't help thinking .....poor chap. He'd got everything. Successful career wonderful family, both immediate and extended, lovely house....and yet his food issues (he lived on 8 bags of salt and vinegar crisps and a bottle of tomato ketchup a day, and the very occasional pizza) were totally dominating his life.....and beginning to affect his blood pressure. The Dogmother
Poor chap, he needs Buffie's help. My nephew has the same sort of diet.
stoice
I couldn't stay awake till the end but i saw him eating strawberries, orange and a banana mid way through the program. How did he do in the end?
Mutrix Farmers
What was the outcome of last week's - the bloke that only ate cheese and crisps?
keyhole kate
I didn’t see it but my YD 15 stayed up to watch it and told me all about it on the school run, : her best friend has a fear of being and so eats a very very limited diet no wonder her mum is stressed out. DD (EDB Teacher) tells me apparently it is a very common phobia My YD is miss fussy that's bad enough She has started to go with her friend to her counseling sessions where they talk, look at pictures and hear sound clips of people being that’s what I call friendship not sure I could do it. I was also a bit worried that it might make my YD the same But not a bit phew
Snowy
I didn't see last weeks, but last night the chap managed to sit down for a big family meal and ate spinach and ricotta lasagne! Although I could sympathise with him, it was his wife and mother I really felt sorry for - he would've driven me bananas!
stoice
What was the outcome of last week's - the bloke that only ate cheese and crisps? He cooked a bbq for his family and you saw him eating a little bit of chicken and some salad. A small start but anything is better than grated cheese with crisps. Odd how everyone can always manage a packet of crisps eh?
jess
One thing I can never understand is how these people manage to have a bowel movement in their lives when all they eat is crisps?!?! Seriously what is happening to these peoples bodies!? Does it tell you on the show?
stoice
Not too much detail in that dept Jess. Strangely this weeks guy looked the picture of health (Although after exercise his BP was sky high so it was warning to him about the amount of salt he ate) Last weeks guy looked normal too although was told he was SERIOUSLY deficient in vital vitamins needed to maintain his nerve endings. I think it scared them both enough to change their diet as best they can but both their problems were psycological and stemmed from some time in their childhood so it must've been hard to overcome the bad habits. jess
I don't know some peoples poor bodies.. :C it makes me feel bad for all the cells and muscles working hard to cope with all that rubbish in their system.
alih
I can only watch snippets as it depresses me too much but although I have admiration for those people who are so desperate to sort out their problems that they will go on national telly to do it, I do wonder how on earth they managed to sustain their diet for so long - and how do their loved ones not drag them kicking and screaming to the doctors?? My kids think am nazi parent as they have to eat whatever is put in front of them and we all eat the same thing, home-cooked each night. But they can eat anything anywhere so it works! It's my husband who is the fussy eater and I am determined not to let the kids follow suit..
KimmyCustard
I'm with you Alih, my 2 step daughters eat whats placed in front of them or they get nothing else. I always make sure its something they like (I'm not that wicked! ) and I dont aim to spend an hour cooking a nice meal for them to push it away. ESD wouldnt finish hers one day (but could manage a pudding when asked) and tried to shove the rest in the bin. I fished it out again and made her eat it (it wasnt covered in other yuck), she never tried it again...... Kimmy x
alih
I bet she didn't! My sister's kids eat about 3 things and it makes me really sad to see it. I could start on a bit of a rant here but will resist for fear of sounding mad and old-fashioned (god forbid!!)
Guest
i was just amazed he wasn't covered in zits with that diet. He had perfect skin. I wonder sometimes if these people pretend they have eating disorders just to get on telly, cynical, me?
