You are my last resort. Nine year old DD has been given a paper plate and told to make a garden on it. My original idea was to do a kind of allotment and make the veg etc out of tissue paper but I really don't know how to do that.

 

Has anyone done anything like this????

 

We've got to hand it in next Monday so we've got a few days. PLEASE help.

I remember doing these when I was a girl

Could she do a garden plan like a professional gardeny type person would do? E.g. draw out the different areas and plots etc...or do you have to make it 3D?

 

The other option is to stick a chicken feather on it and some chicken poo!

You (she) could make a rockery with bits of gravel and crumple dried flowers like lavender to make the plants. All glued on. If you use coconut dyed green she can make a lawn and use a small mirror for a pond.

Ooh Ooh - I love crafty projects. Your daughter could make a fab vege plot. Use scrumpled up green tissue paper to make cabbages and bits of coloured sponge for other veges. Pipe cleaners are great for little trees/pea plants etc, with little twigs for bean canes. Pieces of felt also work very well for this type of thing - little orange triangles for carrots etc.

 

And don't forget the little chicks pecking around in the background

make an eglu by using half an egg shell and paint it and some chicks.

Veggies plot made out of plasticine . Combined with all the other ideas - could have carrot tops poking out of the soil. Make small animals out of plasticine too - eg, chooks and a frog by the pond

Er. Who's homework is it?

With one son I'm afraid I helped him quite a bit with homework like this. Resolved to do better with other.

He came home and had to make a bird table for woodwork. He was a bit older. I found it the other day clearing the garden. We called it the bird macerator - it was wonderful but he never got the hang of putting in nails and they stuck out at angles.
