The Good Life - an update! - photo heavy...

Recommended Posts

You needn't have piccies done if you don't want. Years ago I grew some lettuce as part of a Which magazine trial. The result was sent in by OH as he was the subscriber with the comment of (words to the effect) that the flavour was nothing special, but the slugs loved them. They came around and he had his photo taken outside MY greenhouse! He had a small picture in the magazine when it came out - not that I was bothered about that, but he could have said that I was the gardener and he just mowed the lawn - and any of my flowers that got in the way. He also doesn't have a clue which are plants and which are weeds - after he grubbed up my candytuft instead of the bitter cress one year! :evil: Looking at the garden at the moment, the girls have done a better job in the borders and I have very few plants at all left. They were slap bang in the middle of the lavenders yesterday. If the weather stays nice later on I shall have to fence some areas off.

I know, it made me laugh too when I saw that you could actually buy a pregnant alpaca, but never mind. Their alpacas are lovely though-they show them at the Bath and West show every year too.

But would you have to go on a midwifery course first before buying :shock::lol:

Any news on your blue bottomed sheep Lesley? Are they getting wide yet? I can't remember when the first due date was?

....very bad planning then! :wink::lol:

We went to see about our next lot of weaners yesterday - we are going to have some Berkshires from the lovely Coes, just a bit further up the Fosse Way, at Glebe Farm, and went to see them. We are also hoping to have a couple of Tamworths - the one rare breed we haven't tried yet. We have spoken to the people who sell ham and bacon on the Farmers' Market and should be able to have a couple from them.

How had I missed this thread :shock: (I know, probably because I rarely venture this far down the page these days :oops: ). It's great to see your Good Life thread going strong again though Lesley, and to keep up with all your goings on at the farm. I'm really, really looking forward to reading about the lambs when they arrive 8) .

I'll be watching this thread with huge enthusiasm now that I've finally found it :wink:
