One of the lovely count down's to Christmas is the advent calander. There's always a squabble over the choccies and the candle sometimes gets burnt more than it should and other times, forgets to get burnt.

 

The Omlet forum is going to have it's very own advent calendar. It's not like the traditional calendars where you don't quite know what's behind the door. Each day has a designated theme and as many people as want to can add a relevant picture to the thread.

You can add every day if you want a challange!

(so on Monday 1st december all photo's added must be robins on Tuesday 2nd all photos must be snowmen etc)

 

As an extra challenge - see if you can include some kind of chickeny reference in every picture!!

Great idea Snowy

Trying to be seasonal, but with an antipodean twist I entered New Zealand Robin into google and came up with this unpreposessing little fellow. No redbreasts down here I'm afraid (can't figure out why...the sun's a scorcher, I've got a redder neckline than I'm actually proud of after spending too long in the garden yesterday ). But here you go:

An American Robin - you can imagine the first English settlers coming arriving after the long sea journey, seeing this red-breasted thrush and it reminding them of the cheeky little chaps from home, a long way away...
