sam42
Our young cat Izzy was missing last night. I didn't sleep worrying what had happened to her as she is normally in and sleeps under the bed. Got up this morming to go and have a good look, assuming the worst. Stepped outside the front door to hear a pathetic meow and see a neighbour pointing, only to find Izzy on top of a neighbour's roof. Tried to tempt her down with food, which didn't work. Had to rush off to a friend's to borrow their long ladder. However, we were still struggling to reach her. Phoned the fire brigade who advised they don't come out for this unless the RSPCA call them and confirm the cat is distressed or injured, so you have to try and get RSPCA first. Eventually we repositioned the ladder and OH managed to grab her and get her down. She has been very quiet all day and bless her she was desperate for a wee! Omletina Kyckling
What a silly girl! I'm glad she's home and safe now. One of mine once got stuck up on the mill roof next to our old house and I think he thought the rescue was part of the game, as every time we got near, he ran to the back of the roof

fowlbird
when our Lissi was a tiny kitten (she's now 8 or 9) she went to the very top of the holly tree (around 30ft), despite all our efforts we couldn't get her down and eventually persuaded her mother to go up and fetch her Mother Cat was annoyed about the whole thing but was eventually persuaded to go up for the baby. She carried down the little one and proceeded to give her the beating of her life, biting and screaming at her too we were horrified and separated the two - absolutely the worst thing we could do because Mother stalked off refusing to have anything to do with the situation and kitten went straight up the tree again we got her down but we're now left with a cat who's terrified of heights but thinks the best way in to the house is from the garage roof via the side landing window... and the two cats dislike each other

Helly Welly
Cats will never let on they are daft though. If ours gets stuck somewhere, once rescued he'll walk away with his tail in the air as if we were the stupid ones
fowlbird
cats have an inbuilt sense of dignity don't they? Never embarrassed because it's all our fault...
Phoebe
I sent my husband up a ladder to rescue our cat from a tall thin poplar and Fritz repaid him by jumping on husband 's shoulder aand climbing all the way down his back with his claws out. My fault of course...
