Change to Firefox!

Recommended Posts

We were talking about changing over today.......hadn't heard this news.

I clicked to close this forum this morning and about a hundred windows opened up....and they wouldn't stop

We had to close it all down and leave it for ages.

I'll change over later tonight.

Thanks Fred.

Fred, thanks for this topic, many of us will have heard it on the news but not acted yet.

Now, can you explain slowly; if I download Firefox and browse I'll be OK, but IE is still there running windows?

But, is that all I need to do? Previous browsing via IE won't still be there providing criminal access? Sorry, it's beyond me....

Plus, should I def. go & download that now, is there anything I won't understand when I get there?

If you download Firefox and use it, the shady types won't be able to see what your doing. But Internet Explorer is needed for system processes etc - stuff you dont have to worry about.

As soon as you start up Firefox it will give you the option of moving your bookmarks over from IE.

Wow - I've just changed to Firefox. I've been having so much trouble with t'internet over the last couple of weeks. I thought it was something my OH had done (he did explain what he'd done but I can't remember :? ) but I changed this morning and it is so much quicker. Lately I've not posted as much as it just takes too long and then often the webpage expires but so far so good. Thanks Fred

My 2 children both log on through IE so that they don't disrupt our BT Yahoo, do they just need to download FF when they are nexy online. Also is there any way that any info from our main pc can be transfered via their IE connection when we are logged on through BT Yahoo?

I told them not to use the internet last night, but for ED that is like cutting her right arm off, so need to find an alterantive by this evening.

We use BT Yahoo browser through our wireless hub, but if the children also use that it disconnects ours. They log on via IE through the wireless hub, so presumably they need FF?

We were also wondering if we are all connected via the same hub if information can be found for wrong doing from all connected computers?
