hillfamily
I do love a happy ending. Do battery hens go broody? in theory no........but after my Clarrie stopped laying for good earlier this year, she liked to wander into the nestbox and organise all the eggs into a nice nest and sit on them for a while and she lets my tiny bantam Mille sleep under her wing at night, just like a broody mum would :D

fowlbird
That's lovely and good to hear cos I joined the facebook campaign to save Basil the Cockeral. (Always felt sorry for the neighbours though ) the impression I got was that it was just one family objected and that the other residents wanted him to stay? I wondered where he ended up, it's a lovely story

Ardene5
Hi Everyone The farmer who rescued the cockerel MUST be an omleteer. If not she should be invited to become one. Best regards Ian & Valerie
