craftyhunnypie
This weekend we are getting two new girls in place of poor Frenchie who got stolen. A couple of hybrids from my favourite Creag Mhor supplier. We would like a blubelle & probably another Amber. But it's up to hubby as Frenchie was his girl. I dread to think what names he will give them! So I'm excited. I love chookie choosing & bringing them home to watch them in their new home. Egluntyne
Something to look forward to after a horrible experience. Any update at all on the investigation....if you can call it that?
cluckbok
Names how about "sandie and Rizzo"? in honour of poor Frenchie, keep the Pink Ladies going? Just a suggestion congrats on your new chooks.
craftyhunnypie
Not really much update. The police came & they knew who it was who had sent the mildly threatening text message. He was 'known' to the police. He doesn't live at the apartments in our road, but is obviously a friend of someone who lives there or a boyfriend. We can't actually do him for anything as no witnesses. The police said there is no proof that the chicken was stolen...he could have opened the door & she could have run out. Hmmm, so what's with the pile of broken glass with feathers in it up the road? Also, unless he admits that he broke the Xmas lights, he can't be charged. I am so mad at the law! Basically, anyone can walk in your garden & take what they like...chicken, cat, puppy, plants. It's disgusting! Victim support rang us, but I didn't want to talk to them as I felt so against the law of this country! The whole case makes me sick! If Frenchie had been had by a fox in the enclosure, we'd have been upset, but would have taken measures & accepted it. It's nature unfortunately. But to think that some lowlife thief opened her house, took her , did god knows what to her & then she met a grim end. It's horrid. It's like me throwing the criminal to the lions! ( I wish)! I would not have got over this without the support of the people on here. Thanks everyone! Anyway - the new girls will bring us a bit of joy at the weekend & we are both excited. craftyhunnypie
Cluckbok - I love the names! However, Frenchie was so called after French Knickers! It's a joke within our family. Somehow I can't imagine chickens called Thongy & Tanga! Although I bet hubby likes those names! he he |Emma.x
cluckbok
They are absolute horrid people that did that to poor Frenchie, it terrible they came onto your property and took her! Anyway I sure your new girls will be just as lovely! how exciting! I hope Button and Bingo are doing well, they are so so gorgeous! I would love to have a cuddle! but live too far away! craftyhunnypie
Thank you. Button & Bingo are doing fine. 6 weeks just gone & still on heat. It's so flippin' cold though. I am going to start weaning them off at the weekend. Button is a frizzly as ever, not much of a comb. Bingo is forever changing colour, although a bit partridge looking & his or her comb is growing & little wattles. I'm assuming Bingo is a boy, but I'm always wrong. Whatever they turn out to be, I am keeping them. I shall have to take some recent pictures for everyone to see! Emma.x
helenmb
That's brilliant news Emma, I am so glad that you have something positive to look foward to after all you've been through recently. My Bluebelle is a lovely girl (I have an Amber too) and quite big as well, she has some competition now as my Speckled Sussex is growing like stink at the moment and as yet not one egg (she's about 26 weeks now). Don't forget to post some pics when they arrive.

Then we will be settling the 2 new girls in. We got an Amber called Dusty & a Bluebelle called Lulu. Photos to follow later.
