4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

My girls were out free ranging about 4.15pm and husband was in the lounge keeping an eye on the them by looking through the french doors.

 

My husband started shouting and ran out in the garden - I shorty follow him. the fox had sam's wing in its mouth and was undeterred by my husbands shouting. Ella ran to other side of the garden.

 

He gave the fox a jolly big kick - without is shoes as he had rushed out and the fox let go and jumped over the fence.

 

I have had a good look at Sam in the bath and can't see any punture wounds just missing feathers. She seemed fine and not stressed so I have just pop her to bed with Ella. Will this be ok?

 

A big lesson is never never ever leave your girls free ranging without being around!

That was very lucky that your OH got there in time and gave him a good boot! I am sure that Sam will be fine back in the eglu with Ella as long as there is no blood as they are attracted to that and will peck away at it.
