Cinnamon
You know the one - where everything gets put when no one can be bothered putting it where it should go My clean out of 'that' drawer was long over due, & amongst other treasures I found......... 2 bottles of sun cream, hardly used (figures) A right handed black glove A left handed pink glove The catch to the handle of my old food processor, since given away as we couldn't find this catch Blu Tack, lots of it 8 hair bands. No one has worn hair bands in this house for about 4 years............ A puple dylon fabric dye An especially nasty shade of red toners & shaders hair dye A can of silver spray hair glitter Fairy light bulbs. We have had LEDs for 3 years now A Crocs Jibbitz of a cow 47p Batteries that don't seem to fit anything Fondue forks 2 odd sweetcorn skewers A false fingernail and an underwire off of a bra.Just the wire, no bra with it The mind boggles, doesn't it? Cinnamon
Yes, I have another one too, an upstairs one. You would have thought that the hair dye & bra wire would have been in that one, really
Seagazer
I've got two of these too I just keep pushing everything down and trying to squeeze more stuff in.

BeckyBoo
Does anyone actually USE Dylon because I found one in MY "that drawer" too! That has been one advantage of Mr B leaving, I now have TWO drawers. (plus LOADS of extra space - there must be a silver lining to every cloud) Mrs B
jomaxsmith
My youngest son has just started full time school and I have a long list of things to do now I have time which includes sorting out drawers just like the one you describe! I've also got tasks such as sorting out the boxes in the loft which haven't been unpacked since we moved in 5 1/2 years ago and organising the kitchen cupboards (which are still randomly organised since we had our new kitchen a couple of years back!). I find sorting things out very therpeutic indeed! Jo
jlo
I have at least four drawers like that! Last year, we bought a new suite for the lounge and it had a storage stool. Goodness only knows what I may find in there! We can still sit on it so there's space for more junk!
ubereglu
Yand an underwire off of a bra.Just the wire, no bra with it The mind boggles, doesn't it? Better in the draw than stuck in the washing machine drum...when our Hotpoint was still under warranty the same thing happened and we had to call out the mechanic! Lesley
I have a couple of drawers like that as well (erm, why are we women claiming them as ours ? ) You haven't found the table clamp for my pasta machine have you? - I can't find it in mine
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Does anyone actually USE Dylon because I found one in MY "that drawer" too! Mrs B Yep. It's great for transforming fabric - pepping up old faded jeans, or transforming fabric for a project. If I have to miss Woolies for one thing only, it's as my Dylon dealer. It's in The Law of the Lost Drawer that you have fondue forks and sweetcorn k"Ooops, word censored!" holders in it isn't it? We also have sparklers, bin bags and a marble cheese slicer in ours. And faux crocodile skin boxes which the OH thinks will be useful for something one day.
jackiepoppies
We had the same problem....and the other half was suitably embarrassed when the engineer had to explain to him what it was......after 30 odd years of marriage, 5 kids (including 2 daughters) and a non prudish household! Jackiex Edit....sorry my typings so slow.....this was in reply to the washing machine engineers visit! fowlbird
I'm glad I'm not the only one what puzzles me is that none of you have mentioned nails, screws, screwdrivers, drill bits...
Lesley
I'm glad I'm not the only one what puzzles me is that none of you have mentioned nails, screws, screwdrivers, drill bits... I must admit that that sounds more like mine It also has string, tiny wheels off toy cars (because you just know some small person will ask if you've seen one if you throw them away ) and lots of wine bottle corks - Carl hides them in there so that he doesn't have to face up to how much he's drinking
BeckyBoo
Just had another rummage through mine - two old and useless mobile phones, string from the Abel and Cole boxes I used to have, lots of screws, nails, a small picture that fell off the wall, chargers for two phones (not the two in the drawer ) old photos, a remote control for the telly and some net curtain wire amongst other things, I love drawers like this! I like turning out my handbag every few months (I have several bags so I swap, it's always nice to find stuff and go "Oh THAT'S where that was!" Tessa the Duchess
I'm glad I'm not the only one what puzzles me is that none of you have mentioned nails, screws, screwdrivers, drill bits... Things like that have a place in my house, or rather in the shed. I just peeked in one of mine, much shoving to get the drawer open, I found a dr's stethascope several incomplete packs of playing cards, some satay sticks, three mobile phone chargers for phones that are long gone, loads of old curtain hooks, a humane mouse trap, blackboard chalks and on and on, I really don't understand why I don't chuck all this stuff away, but they might come in 'useful' one day Tessa
Phoebe
mine is the same - plus a dozen red rubber bands from the postman and 2 pairs of scratched sunglasses.......... A washing machine engineer once told me that underwire from bras is the most common cause of faults.
mostin
Even worse than that drawer is my cooking utensil drawer. I can barely get this drawer open and then when I do I get injured by implements that I no longer even know the use for, as I rumage through it

jackiepoppies
This begs the question.....what is it about us humans? Why do we do it? Obviously I can understand the storage/preservation of food....(as a Taurus=earth) my family despair of my full cupboards, and squirrels etc. have nothing on me......BUT WHY? Nails (probably bent), corks?....bungs, fishing floats? what? Also WHY is it soooooo hard to be ruthless and chuck it away......or is it just me? Answers on a bent, creased, old, unsent postcard (found in said drawer) from the distant past with matching stamp to local village where it would have been delivered without the 'benefit' of a postcode, because they knew me as a person Jackiex
Lesley
......and I still want to know why women are claiming these drawers as 'theirs' - it sounds like everyone in the family dumps stuff in them
