Omletina Kyckling
Hello all, I've not been on much over the past few days as I've not been so well but also been hyper-busy....I have the bug everybody seems to be getting, mainly in my chest, but also my sinuses and it feels like my throat and head are about to part company. I'm not sleeping much and feel absolutely awful....it's been getting worse for the past week. I've not been able to rest though as we've been really busy. We spent Saturday out in the forest near here (Forestry Commission land) as we wanted to buy some logs to chop up ourselves, to save money. We ended up buying about 3-4 tonnes of logs (and by logs I mean 10 foot long tree trunks!!) which we had to lug out of a pile into a trailer behind my Landy, then drive them home and lug them out and stack them up here. We have a lot of wood now (and it only cost us £65, and will last four or five winters I reckon!) I got about 3 hours sleep on Saturday night and then we were up at 5 yesterday, as we had to drive up to our house up near Huddersfield to empty it as tenants are moving in (after it has sat empty and not earning us any money for five months!) - we used the same big trailer and lugged things on and then off....we were still unloading at about 9 last night. This morning back to the forest for another load of wood, in the pouring rain this time. So all our jobs are now done, but I have hardly any voice, but an impressive cough, thumping head, runny nose and general yuckiness....hubby is just starting with the same bug so I will be attending to his needs whilst he's ill (funny, I don't remember him attending to mine?!) I'm just hoping that now things have calmed down a bit, I may be able to get better!!! I have a houseful of stuff from the other house to find room for though, but that'll have to wait... End of moan

bluekarin
Hope you feel better soon. You've made me tired just reading your post! If you can, try and get lots of rest as being over tired and not sleeping will not help shift any bugs.
Sheilaz
Big hug from me (with scarf over my nose! ) and a cuppa. I'm amazed at what you've achieved! Now nurse yourselves better, I'll make the tea ....as in cuppa, not a meal; I've just burnt ours (whilst reading forum ). OH & YD have found an steam inhaler cup (looks like Tomme Tippee with a nose piece )with either Vick's or Olbas Oil for 5 mins 3 times a day really helps. Hope you have a good, long sleep tonight & feel better soon. xx

hillfamily
Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather It's so easy when you are run off your feet with things that can't be put off, to catch every bug going and take an age to recover. If you have a chance, give yourself a bit of well needed tlc - it's amazing what an afternoon or evening, resting and recuperating can do :D Sending big healing hugs xxx

Omletina Kyckling
You poor thing..please go and do this x I wish I could, but when I lie down, all the gunge in my face and chest all settles and then I cough and keep blowing my nose, lovely thought, eh? I'm on tablets for my arthritis which suppress my immune system, so I don't have a lot of oomph to fight bugs grrrr Thanks for all of your kind comments, I feel quite pampered now ! Chook n Boo Mum
Hope you managed to get some sleep last night...at least if you have to look after Sir it means you'll have to stay in the warm & look after yourself too? Take care & take it easy today, it sounds like you certainly deserve it Curl up with a warm blanket, warm drink, cuddly pusscat & doze on the sofa - give Sir a packet of tissues and a flask if he chooses to stay in bed! Get well soon, Sha x
