stoice
Keep hearing this on the radio and saw it on tv the other day too. I love it. The ad for the natural confectionery company. OH and me were doing the weekly shop saying it in the bread section too - bring on the CRUMPETS!!!
Redwing
I love their ads - they are very surreal! OH and I now shout "trumpets" at each other for effect sometimes - it makes us feel better!
Helly Welly
We've been shouting this out a lot as well, great adverts
Chickvic
Does tend to stick in your mind doesn't it?
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
What the?! That's going to interswitch in our household with 'trumpets and bookmarks' which is a Mighty Boosh quote which we use in answer to various questions but which is actually the items Howard Moon thinks ladies like and like to be wooed with. Or somesuch.
Happy chickens!
Sorry, saw this earlier and didn't get it, still don't, please explain?!
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I take it to have three sort-of points. One - that given the product is natural, a fanfare should be used to announce it because they're special sweets - hence 'bring on the trumpets'. Two - it's a ridiculous phrase to keep repeating, and the shouty sugar-covered fellow is being funny because he keeps saying it to the bafflement of the other sweety fellow. How surreal! How funny! These sweets are both natural AND fun! Hoorah! Three - BRING ON THE TRUMPETS! is a sort-of catchphrase. It could catch on with all the buzz about the advert (like us talking about it here) and other viral marketing campaigns. I think the ad people were thinking it is simple and surreal enough to catch on in a 'you know you've been tangoed' kind of way, thus massively increasing brand awareness for a new product. Does that help?!
Happy chickens!
Thanks very much, but you can't help me because I'm being thick! Hadn't figured it was an ad - which I haven't seen or heard..... Shouldn't read posts too quickly after a glass of wine.

Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks for that - I didn't have a clue what you were on about either . Possibly not on sale in Scotland - I've never even heard of them, let alone seen their advert.
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
They're jelly sweets. Really nice. Some have a tangy sugar coating, others are plain. They are bear or dinosaur or snake-shaped. The banana ones are my favourite.
Snowy
They sent out some freebies a few months ago. We got some, but I didn't get to try them ... the vultures got to them first I assume they were OK as they disappeared very quickly

Redwing
I heard the radio version today, it made me laugh out loud in the car, the chap is trying to explain to the bear who is shouting "trumpets" what company they are made by and the bear shouts "shut up! trumpets!" I normally hate it when people say "shut up" but the way it is done on the advert is so delightfully rude I find it funny! I think the whole point is that you remember the company - a bit like 'Trust pink, forget stains' sticks in your head even though it doesnt really make sense
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
'Trust pink, forget stains' sticks in your head even though it doesnt really make sense I'm imagining this is the pop star advertising Persil , but it's not is it? Is it Vanish or something?
bluekarin
My son thought I was going mad today as he came home with a bag of sour teddy sweets and I kept saying 'trumpets' to him I showed him the ad on You Tube and he then understood
