Bring on the trumpets

Recommended Posts

I take it to have three sort-of points. One - that given the product is natural, a fanfare should be used to announce it because they're special sweets - hence 'bring on the trumpets'.

Two - it's a ridiculous phrase to keep repeating, and the shouty sugar-covered fellow is being funny because he keeps saying it to the bafflement of the other sweety fellow.

How surreal! How funny! These sweets are both natural AND fun! Hoorah!

Three - BRING ON THE TRUMPETS! is a sort-of catchphrase. It could catch on with all the buzz about the advert (like us talking about it here) and other viral marketing campaigns. I think the ad people were thinking it is simple and surreal enough to catch on in a 'you know you've been tangoed' kind of way, thus massively increasing brand awareness for a new product.

Does that help?! :?:?:shock::D

I heard the radio version today, it made me laugh out loud in the car, the chap is trying to explain to the bear who is shouting "trumpets" what company they are made by and the bear shouts "shut up! trumpets!"

I normally hate it when people say "shut up" but the way it is done on the advert is so delightfully rude I find it funny! :lol:

I think the whole point is that you remember the company - a bit like 'Trust pink, forget stains' sticks in your head even though it doesnt really make sense
