Am I just making a fuss....

Recommended Posts

Well the neighbours knocked on our door tonight to ask if we had lost an guinea pig. Well we don't own an guinea pig but our cat nearly had the little animal for dinner (they saw our cat trying to catch next to their fence) so after a while I went to the neighbours door just to see if they had anywhere for the guinea pig to stay. Word went around and the owner whrere soon found. Turned out the guinea pig had been missing for 5 days and they already had given away the outside hutch. The woman didn't seemed very keen on taking it back as she had nowhere for it to stay so neighbour said they could keep the plastic box in where it was staying for time being till the owner got found. Well her reply was it had to stay outside in the plastic box!!!

i know its not my problem but I can't stop thinking about this poor little thing possible being outside with no protection. Hubby is not very fussed as he keeps telling me its not our problem. yes there is worse in the world but it just buggs me as I can't do anything and i just need to let steam off as hubby and me are nearly going into an argument about!!!

oh dear, difficult isn't it, if you go round and take it in then you'll most likely end up lumbered with it but I'd be exactly the same as you and worry about it freezing to death. The owner is utterly irresponsible, you'd think they'd be happy to see their piggie again! I wonder if they let it out on purpose!?

If you were closer, I'd have it as I keep saying I want to take missuscluck's piggie home with me, she's so cute!

Phew you're not sending me to the naughty step then. :D

No, you can stay & have a gold star.

The naughty step is now full, so I've moderated a few posts to keep this more family friendly, sorry I can't pm you all.

A bit slow posting this as I had to retype it  when I lost the 1st draft.

Anyway, poor guinea, the original owner's response was terrible.

Poor little thing. It sounds to be as if they 'accidentally left the cage door open'.

I remember when one of out guinea pigs did a runner years ago, we knocked on doors, looked through kind neighbours gardens, with them helping, put up posters and a notice in the PO window.

There was certainly no question of flogging the hutch with such haste.

Poor little (brown guinea) it definitely sounds like she didn't want it back at all.

I hope its survived. We had one until a couple of years ago. Pippin lived in an indoor cage on the upstairs landing, he was so gorgeous and friendly.

Its the sort of thing me and my hubby would have argued about as well. :?
