Thanks for your support and good wishes everyone, it really means a lot. I'm very sad to say that Nancy has just died, but it was a quick and peaceful end. I think you are right, the shock of being moved and then this awful freezing weather was just too much for her to take.

 

I hope Gerty and Flo' will be strong enough to survive - am not too worried about Flo' at all, she seems to be taking everything in her stride - even saw her using the normal drinker and eating a grape earlier! Hopefully Gerty will follow her example tomorrow, although this very cold snap is going to be a trial.

I had a similar problem l think it was shock.I gave mine porrage in a syringe just little amounts at a time little and often.She was very frightened and just sitting as your was.We was lucky she did pull through.Now shes the cutest one.Im so sorry to hear about your nancy its better she was with you tho then back where she was at least you loved her and wanted to care for her.You sound like a lovely caring person and a good mum to your other girls.Dont let it put you of getting more

Thanks Tara, and I am very glad your little one 'made it'. Each bird that survives is what makes rescuing worthwhile. I won't let it put me off doing it again. Meanwhile, I will focus on Gerty & Flo' and making their retirement as happy as possible

My heart goes out to you.....Poor Nancy. I have just put some plastic sheets around the bottom of the dog bars to stop the snow drifting in. The weather is frightening tonight . i hope the other 2 continue to do well and give yourself a hug from me. Sue xxx
