A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Has anyone heard of The Snuggie? It's a sort of walk-in blanket which is very popular in the States. If you type 'the snuggie' into youtube there's an informercial. I can't post the link because some people write very, er, anti-Snuggie comments about them in the comments section. They look like monks robes, and I want one. It's very wrong, but I want one.

Chook n Boo Mum
And who in their right mind would wear one of those at an outdoor event... ? In the comfort of your own home; oh yes - or a friends; maybe , but out in public no way Jose !! It looked like some kind of weird cult meeting!! Each to their own of course Sha x
lizinsa
I love the 'wear it to an outdoor event' scene? It seems to be a dressing gown worn backwards so surely your back still gets cold Youtube has a parody of the advert, it made me chuckle! A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I think there are 'snuggie spot' websites where they try to spot people wearing them at public events. There was someone wearing one in the crowds at the presidential inauguration ceremony. They remind me of a warmer version of The Polyphonic Spree's outfits (they are a massive band with many members who all wear robes so they look like a cult. If you don't know them, you've heard them. They do the orchestral musical flourish with the flute trill at the end of most Sainsbury's ads). They look so warm and cover your feet. I know they're very wrong, but how warm would one be right now in this snow? I wonder if they make you a static electricity magnet as well, what with being pure plastic fleece. Egluntyne
Can't see those becoming the next Omlet 'must have' somehow!
Chickvic
I'd love one not sure I'd wear it out though. DH and I snuggle up on the settee with a fleecy blanket most nights. Keeps the heating costs down
Cinnamon
I quite like it, but they only come in truly nasty colours!

bluekarin
They were going on about these on Radio 1 a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't check them out. The bit where they are toasting marshmallows on the fire outdoors looked like a masonic meeting, with them all in the red robes. Not that I have been to a masonic meeting btw

dancing cloud
You can get slankets on ebay - also blankets with sleeves. Practical, but not pretty
myles
We have one, I was too tight to pay good money for one, so I bought a large thick fleece blanket and made my own. They are really nice if your feeling under the weather and you can still hold your cup of tea, cake, biscuit or whatever takes your fancy. Not outdoor wear though. Maybe ok on a campsite Anne
