Couperwife
The suit is Cream not white but I know it is the same thing. I am sure the bride won`t mind.......she shouldn`t be wearing white anyways!! oh riiiiiight if you feel right and lovely wearing the suit - go for it. I would probably sit on a mucky wall or brush against something green or have a child with a red icelolly run into me my bridesmaid wore a white (ish) suit for our wedding - no one was looking at her cathy x

chelsea
Def wear what YOU WANT to wear. There is nothing worse than felling uncomfortable! Completely agree, I couldnt care less if what I wear is "hip n trendy" or not - as long as I am comfy I couldnt give a monkeys what anyone else thinks Wear something you like & what you feel comfy in...weddings are long days. Cooks
no I didn't, I am just using that dress as a guide when i go shopping, I have been told to try on the dresses as I already feel uncomfortable thinking about a dress let alone IN one My friend is the same size as me and has offered me the loan of any one of her dresses so that's an option. She's even the same size foot!, when I picked her as my friend I made sure of these facts
stoice
monsoon always seem to do lovely long floaty 'skim the bad bits' dresses - although they can be pricey. This is lovely but the price is this is nice and has straps instead of it being a bandaeu top. Cheaper too Plus they on-line site suggests accessories too! I bought a lovely long halter neck with two layers (So the top layer skimmed over mmy lumpy bits) from tk max. Bit hit and miss with what they have in store but you can sometimes get a bargain. WitchHazel
I've just been through something similar myself. I haven't worn a dress or a skirt for about 18 years. My 9step)daughter is getting married in April, and i decided I'd try and find a dress or skirt/top combination. It was hopeless. I am size 14/16 waist, size 14 shoulders and a huge bust (34GG). Everything was either too tight, or too gaping. Then my best friend stepped in and gave me a dress of hers to try on. It was too small, but it was surprisingly flattering. So, I got myself down to "Phase Eight". They were fan-tastic. Very patient, not at all condescending or patronising. Brought me almost every dress in the shop to try on so I could get an idea of what suited me. Told me what suited me, were honest about what didn't. Best of all, they have a seamstress available, so when i finally found my dress, which was a little to big on the shoulders, she was able to adjust the straps for me. It was such an amazing experience that I bought a second dress as well (not for the wedding) and also a skirt in their sale. And a couple of tops, but that's by the by. The great thing is, if you can find the style and colour from there that you like, you can then find something similar, still by phase 8, on Ebay. The Dogmother
I may have missed this already, but is it a daytime or evening wedding? If it's daytime, then it'd be best to steer clear of a strapless affair (and obviously anything white). Make sure that you're comfortable too and don't feel awkward. I'm sure that you will find something lovely Loops

Aunty e
Monsoon have some nice dresses like that - in fact, I have a couple of them to take me through the awkward looking fat rather than pregnant stage. Try on everything in your friends wardrobe as well, just to make sure there isn't a shape you're overlooking that might suit! Two ladies wore white suits to my wedding. I wasn't especially pleased, but then I did wear white, and was a bit of a stickler for the niceties back then. Also was mostly unimpressed because neither of them knew me particularly well, and I thought it was a bit of a cheek. That's just me though, I think other people wouldn't care. Anyway, the colour didn't do either of them any favours and I have the photographic evidence.
