Who is doing something nice this weekend?

Recommended Posts

Watcing Comic Relief and hearing how my little sister got on at Conway as she coems back tonight.

Tomorrow might go to Alderley Edge to buy some yummy food from Weinholts and get some of my favourite sausages from the butcher. Then will probably stay at home for the rest of the day doing family tree research. On Sunday I will most probably be having a trip to Costco as we keep running out of stuff we buy from there, plus we all like looking around and having food there.

Seagazer, wil you be coming over with OH for the TT? If so, would you like to meet up and talk chooks?

(I may even be persuaded to do a spot of baking  )

Thats very nice of you to offer but he'll be on his own (well, with my brother and my brother's friend and my nephew) but on his bike and there is no way on god's earth that he is ever going to get me on it.

He went last year on the back of brother and brother's friends motorbikes and thats what made him get his bike. He loved it on Isle of Man so perhaps I'll make it over when the racing is not on and pop in for a nice cup of tea and slice of cake :D

well I was going to make Kate Hob"Ooops, word censored!"s tomorrow, but I brought them forward to this evening, I have a batch cooling!:drool::drool::drool: I am going to buy some cornish vanilla icecream tomorrow Kate!! :D

(I said Kates hob"Ooops, word censored!"s would go lovely with this icecream) so I am testing them out. My son said he wants to make another bath sometime over the weekend and add chocolate... now I am off chocolate so I can have the plain ones.... :D

We will be watching Comic Relief with a takeaway tonight. Did anyone else watch the Red Nose Climb documentary last night. I have so much more respect for those people involved now, even Cheryl Cole who moaned all the time. I have donated loads of times, it was a tough challenge.

:D

I watched the programme with some interest. Like others on here, I have done the climb myself. To be fair, I did the "tourist" route rather than the one that the CR climbers did and I know that the Machame route is much harder. Plus, we had the luxury of sleeping in huts rather than tents. What a wuss I am!! I know exactly what they mean about the altitude and the preoccupation with bodily functions!

I have to say that my respect is totally for the entourage - especially the porters who are amazing. not to mention the camermen lugging all the equipment around!

We are watching the comic relief tonight as well. I did enjoy Outnumbered!

Well I'm tidying the house in readiness for middle daughter's 16th birthday party tonight (not mopping the floors though, what's the point  ). Still to go out and buy the drinks and snacks...oh, and a birthday card to put the requested money in!

Then tomorrow I have a hospital appointment at the Neurology clinic (on a Sunday :eh: ).....I'll need it once I see the aftermath  .

DS has chicken pox :( so we are housebound this weekend, gives us a chance to get on with the raised beds tho

Oh dear, hope he's not too poorly with it and gets better soon.

My first ever weekend off (children at the ex's overnight) has started fabulously! :D Took the dog for a LONG walk, bought some undercoat and some filler, filled holes in wall, undercoated woodwork in bedroom, gave walls in bedroom last coat of emulsion, walked dog again, this time to the pub, had a pint of bitter shandy, read me book for half an hour and watched the rugby, walked back, now have ANOTHER shandy on the go and am just off up to the bath to wash off the paint (which got everywhere - I'm not a very good decorator although I love doing it  ) then mushroom risotto for tea and hopefully some rubbish on the telly!

I've been out in the dark! For the first time in AGES!! :D

Well our Saturday night theatre treat ended with us in an ambulance because hubby blacked out while sitting down - just suddenly slumped against me - I thought he was having a stroke. Very scary!

The theatre staff were rubbish but thanks to the very kind man sitting next to me we got him out and into in ambulance very quickly. They let him go after tests.

Hubby says he's fine - I'm not convinced and am very worried about him.

Oh and we didn't see the end of the play - Imelda Staunton was fabulous, Matthew Horne was "Ooops, word censored!" and should stick to TV - but if anyone can tell me the end of Entertaining Mr Sloane I'd be very grateful.

sorry to anyone who had a pants weekend or felt ill. Feel a bit funny posting this now but we had a lovely weekend.

I've had my share of pants weekends so just feel like sharing what a lovely time I've had, hope "Ooops, word censored!"ody minds :?

Saturday I took 15 x 8oz jars of lemon curd and 5 x 8oz jars of orange curd to the farmers' market to sell on my friend's stall, she does jam, chutney, mustard, jellies, pasta sauce, cumberland sauce and too many more to mention. I help her out on the stall too and pick up a few other goodies while I'm there. I always have a good time and make a wee bit of pocket money into the bargain :D

After the market I went to see my mum and had a cuppa with her and then home to find Ian attaching the eglu to the run

For tea last night I braised some free range pork sausages from the market in home made onion gravy and we had it with creamy mash (made extra for the girls) and Spring cabbage, steamed and tossed in butter, yum!

Today we had a scrummy breakfast of bread made by a French lady from the farmers' market who makes the most delish bread! Much better than me! So we had some of it toasted with loganberry jam I bought off my friend. I also bought 2 goose eggs off her from her own geese so we'll be having them at some point next week :D

After brekkie we went for lunch (with mum) to a lovely pub I recently found in Delamere Forest, it overlooks a lake and the food is incredible!

After lunch we went to a caravan/camping showroom not too far away and mum is going to buy us a drive away awning for the camper van so she can come camping with us. She'll sleep in the van and we'll use the awning. Looking forward to our first family camping trip as my sister and her BF have said they'll pitch up near us in their tent too if they can make it

Came home and mixed the girls up the leftover mashed potato with a tin of tuna, some probiotic yoghurt and a few chopped up grapes. I love watching them having a feast :D After that, just mostly chilled out and watched a bit of TV :D

Lydia I hope your OH is ok now and that was just a one off

Sounds like you had a great weekend Poet :D

Seagazer I hope that you had a lovely birthday :D

We had a very busy weekend but still managed a lie in both mornings.

We watched Comic Relief which was ok but I really missed my ED who was at a sleepover. We have a great laugh together at the weekends and OH was on the phone to his Dad for ages DS went to his room so YD and I were left alone for a while.

Collected ED on Saturday morning :D She looked wrecked and had a sore throat and cold but had enjoyed herself. Then we watched Liverpool win 4-1 against Man U fantastic  We then spent a couple of hours doing loads of clearing on the allotment, had a bonfire and I spent a happy 15 minutes with the flame thrower burning tufts of grass in the raspberry patch

Sunday was spent at the allotment doing ground preparation and planting onions and shallots with OH happily playing with his rotovator and strimmer. Boys and their toys :lol:

We then came home had a lovely chive omelette for lunch then cleaned out the chickens and made them a new perch because they had broken the old one which wasn't very good anyway. We then planted a few new plants, went for a swim and came back home to roast lamb and apple cake and custard.

I finished my book in the evening and drank a couple of glasses of red :D

A good weekend 8)

He didn't go to hospital - the paramedics did the tests and pronounced him OK but they were not listening to the fact that he was sitting down when he blacked out and assumed he stood up and felt light headed then.

I can't get the silly man to go and see the doctor now. He is making all sorts of excuses as to why it happened - it was hot in the theatre (it wasn't), he was hungry (it was 4pm and he'd had lunch and breakfast), he was dehydrated (he was drinking from a bottle of water throughout the performance). We're at stale mate now on the issue.
