Lots of you will remember a couple of weeks ago my brother was really ill, well we went back to hospital to get his results yesterday.

 

He has diverticulitis, I am so relieved that it isn't cancer.

 

He is making steady progress now and I'm sure that now he knows what it is his recovery will speed up even more. He's dealing with his colostomy bag well and the hospital were very pleased with him.

 

He is still staying at my Mum's at the moment. It's just not very practical for him to be at home alone, just going out for shopping would be difficult as he isn't allowed to carry anything heavy.

 

Your words of support were really appreciated when that was all going on so I thought I would let you know of the outcome.

What a huge relief, there's always that unspoken worry isn't there so I'm SO glad it's turned out to be something, hopefully, far more treatable. Glad to hear he's recovering well,

I had to look it up on NHS direct, sounds painful. But I guess it must be reassuring to have a diagnosis and know how it can be treated. Not knowing is just awful.
