A big pile of Poo!

Recommended Posts

We found an enormous pile of extremely well rotted, strawy, manure at the back of the small barn.

It smells of nothing! - just slightly of soil. We've been filling the trailer with it and distributing it around various veggie plots.

This is the state of the polygreenhouse at the moment.....some weeding required at the top end still....

The fleece has been blown awry overnight. To the right is a glimpse of the next plot to make - covered with black polythene.

Thanks all! - I thought I'd post a photo of it before the weeds take over!

wow! your sweetcorn looks like it's going great guns! Looks like an awful lot of hard work, is it just you and Carl that do it ALL?

We do have a man who comes once a fortnight to do strimming and is currently planting 50 ash trees which we will be coppicing to use as fuel.....one day. Other than that it is mostly me who sows all the seeds and keeps the veggie plots going - Carl digs any holes needed and carries heavy stuff if I can't manage it. Lauren and Jake each have their own plot and they look after those when they come after school - only on Wednesdays now, or on Tuesdays and Thursdays in school holidays.

Oh Lesley I am very jealous

Would love a greenhouse but what with my boy and next door's lad - it wouldn't last 5 minutes as they are both football crazy

:D - the Keders are very strong - and safe of course.......they do make a garden range as well, so it's always worth considering.

We need to rob a bank now and add the next module

The sweetcorn really need to be planted out now but we're still having frost at night. All the outside stuff has been hardening off for a week now.

We have filled two big galvanised water tanks with the poo compost - ready for the courgette plants.......so far I have 12  and some butternut squash just coming up  ......I'd better start collecting recipes
