Peaches
I've had my 4 ex-batts for less than 3 weeks now and I've just put my name down on the waiting list at BHWT for another 4. Am I normal?
katieadams
I'd say so - only thing stopping me getting more is lack of space

katieadams
Definitely! I want to move to a house with more land purely to accommodate more chooks! How mad am I? I just said that to my husband the other day - he replied 'something like that around here would cost a million or more'. So I said 'you'd better get your finger out then'

Chook n Boo Mum
Are chicken addictive.....is the Pope Catholic? I feel these are very similar question/answer situations Even DH is "easily led" shall we say with regards chooks, so could be on his way to being addicted!! Space Chick
I've had my 4 for a fortnight, have already made them a permanent spot and have started to nag OH for some ex-batts too (after reading the posts yesterday). He has put his foot down and told me no though

smithy36
All perfectly normal... your friends will start to glaze over when you talk about chickens, and you stop worrying about the odd bit of chicken poo on your shoes, you look at everything in a different light eg "that bowl would be perfect for chicken treats" "that flower pot would make a fantastic dust bath" "i will cook some extra veg/rice/pasta/potatoes for the chickens" - i could go on but I will let you discover just how much they take over your life! You are safe on here and among friends, but remember there are plenty of "odd" people in the world who dont like chickens!!
Must be mad
I am an addict! Started out in October with 3, then in November got 9 more. Unfortunatly we have lost 2 and 1 turned out to be a cockrel which we rehomed. Today I have ordered to go with my and put in a request for some ex-batts. Ain't Nobody Here
I've only stuck at 3 because of my tiny garden . Everywhere I go I see things (like branches or pallets) and think "hmm, I could use that ". Thank goodness for this forum - just imagine if we didn't have somewhere we could go where we're deemed "normal" .
mags
only had the girls since March ,had to wait till I moved house and we settled in so I still have boxes that need unpacked I love my Garden and it's very tempting to get more chickens but I have to wait until I get the garage built and the fences in before I should consider getting more keeping looking at cubes and WIR LOL Mags

mags
The garden was the big pull of this house as I have wanted chickens for a long time and felt my other garden was too small. Mags

mostin
Addictive, nooooooooooo, not at all . The fact that I now have 11 hens instead of 2 after only 9 months of hen-keeping is just a coincidence . Your decision to get 4 more ex-batts so soon sounds perfectly normal to me .
