I wish I'd not read this thread.

Hopefully (or not, depending on which way you look at it  ) I have a few years left before I hit the big "M", & boy, am I not looking forward to it.

I have a couple of friends who sailed through it, no problems at all. Let's hope you will be one of the lucky ones

:)

Just for general information:

I heard a Menopause expert on Radio 4 a while back who said that roughly 1/4 women get bad problems, 1/4 get none at all, and about 1/2 women get so-so problems during menopause.

HTH - or is just a little bit interesting. :)

The hot flushes are driving me crazy - I can go weeks without any, but then they come back and they are happening every half hour or so one some days (not including the night sweats, of course.) Is it normal to get them so often?

I'm a bit cautious about taking soya products, my sister-in-law swears they helped her, but I've read somewhere that it can affect your thyroid and as I've already got thyroid disease I don't want to risk upsetting things.

Just a thought Olly have you had thyroid function tests recently to check you're on right dosage? if not time to visit GP.

All these menopause recipes - just a thought if OH eats the cake or flapjacks will he get any effects of oestrogen ( as he will eat them I know he will :shameonu::shameonu: ) Dont want him growing boobs or singing soprano like the guy on BGT :lol:

Is it wise to get a confirmatory check from your gp if you think you are peri-menipausal?

Irregular periods - last two months 3 weeks apart. Flooding - a little enough to feel very uncomfortable suddenly feeling very squidy around the middle, moody as hell (but always have been). Can I assume these are familiar symptoms to the rest of you?

Tried that... it is a scan in jpg format and it wont let me paste for some reason...?

Sorry not very technically minded!

:(

You need to upload it to an image hosting site, I use flickr.

When you've done that you'll get a link.

Put that link into [img*]link goes here[/img*] (with the asterix's removed) and it should come up :)

Hi all

Another peri-menopausal here. I got lots of good advice from menopause matters forum. Have not had flooding (yet) thank goodness; main problems are hot flushes, not getting any sleep and lots of aches and pains (and spreading waistline, but that might be because of spending too much time reading the All Things Nice section of this forum :oops:

YUP :(:( Some of us do

I reckoned two years was enough. I was happy to see if things smoothed out.

They didn't so I'm back on the pills and I feel wonderful ... like I've been let out of a dark miserable prison.

I found that my patches kept peeling off or sticking to my clothes!

I make flapjacks with omega seeds and chopped prunes, date and figs - delicious,

My husband woke up with mine on him  I gave up on them, they gave me big red circles and I was scared of the breast cancer risk.

Would love to try the cake though. The flushes went but seem to be around a lot at the moment. :( Does it help the memory :?:D
