ali-s
Always get good results from my breadmaker, so image the shock of seeing this . Somewhere in the middle is the kneading paddle I'm too ashamed to feed it to the garden birds It weighs 1kg and is solid as a rock
Mrs Frugal
Wow! It's quite a shock when you lift the lid to find it's somewhat lacking in height, isn't it!! I've had that sort of loaf myself a few times too!! Amazing how heavy they are too !

Martin B
That's such a coincidence, my Mum has paid me to make her some bread, it is extremely slanted and is harder than usual!
theherd123
When i first looked at the picture before i read your post i thought 'WOW i wish i could make bread that well' And you are disappointed with it I would be over the moon, mind you breadmakers and I dont get along too well
Craig
I managed to do the same and also managed to make a crumpet like loaf full of big holes! apprently it was lovely toasted I couldn't bare to look at it. Craig. Was it dead/missing yeast?
ali-s
I don't know what went wrong OH found the paddle in the middle The loaf is in the bin
ubereglu
Hmmm, now I see why Mum doesn't want a breadmaker and is happy tob uy it in. Much easier to make it by hand!
Tamsin
Bread from the bread maker is lovely when you eat it straight away (fresh) from the bread maker but if you dont it does go like a rock then you end up dipping it in soup as that is the only way you can eat it without breaking a tooth, guess its healthier than shop bread though
The Dogmother
It's amazing isn't it? I make bread a couple of times a week in my lovele Panasonic breadmaker; most fo the time it turns out fine, but every now and then - for no apparent reason - I get a loaf like that. The ingredients are the same and everything
Linda
The crust looks a wonderful colour.
Egluntyne
I think it is due to the occasional rogue sachet of yeast.
