Getting that first job.......updated!

Recommended Posts

A bit of advice wise Omleteers.

Its been a loooooong time since I had an interview (& an even longer time since I was 16!)

Is it totally unsuitable to wear a denim knee length skirt for the interview do you think?

She will have a smartish short sleeved shirt & ballet pumps with it, & its the only skirt we can find that isn't mid thigh :?

The shop is quite country casual ..... what do you think?

We are going to look out for a pretty just over the knee cotton one in Reading today, but just in case we don't find anything do you think she could get away with it?

Has anyone ever been to a Joules shop, & if so did you note what the staff were wearing?

*fingers crossed that someone has* :P

:D Best wishes to Devon for tomorrow, Sarah.

Skirt & blouse sound fine, and remember the smile!

The other thing about interviews is to say good things about the company(so know their products & say something positive about them), and why you would be right for the job(enjoy clothes & people).

Just back, & waiting to hear now :D

I have prepared her that she may not get it, telling her its great experience anyhow, just to have a proper formal interview.

I think she was quite nervous,& I am sure that showed as she is also a bit shy, but fingers crossed anyhow :D

Did they say when she'll hear?

'Soon' apparantly :?

They open on Saturday & have a launch party tomorrow night which she will also need to go to 8)

If she does get it, she gets £100 to spend on their clothes each season, so thats twice a year, for stuff to wear to work, which is a fantastic bonus for a 16 year old.
