shibby69
Hi All! Yesterday we travelled two hours to sutton bridge to collect our six ex battery girls from LHR's huuuge rescue. They seem to be settling in great, and laid us two eggs this morning, bless them. They're a little wobbly and unsure but i expected that. I thought i'd share some pictures with you all of our lovely new ladies. Their names are; Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, Gloria, Millie and Stella although names haven't been assigned to everyone just yet there are a couple who've been given a name we thought seemed to suit them best Anyway, enjoy... Gloria one of them meeting Jet through the mesh
Griffin
Brilliant I adopted my three LHR girls a month ago now, they seem like they've been here forever. I've loved watching them learning about real life and coming out of their shell. Good luck with yours.
Barkisland
They look to be in pretty good condition, but I remember those 'dead eyes' so well They will soon spring back to life though, with lots of TLC in their lovely new home. Well done for giving them the chance
Ain't Nobody Here
What lovely girls . "Dead eyes" describes it so well, though . Their huge pale combs make me feel so sad too . I'm sure they'll be looking proper chickeny soon though . Well done for rescuing them .

poachedegg
Well done on getting ex batts - they don't look too bad feather wise - though definitely got 'dead eyes'.......wait until you see the difference in a couple of weeks.
shibby69
The girls have been learning to scratch around in the hemcore today - they're wobbly when they do it but they're trying it nonetheless They seem interested in my other girls' eating corn and such but i daren't try them with it incase it upsets their bellies a bit - one of them did find a bug of sorts on the floor earlier though and once she realised it was edible she worked herself up into a frenzy scratching around for more It only lasted about 10 minutes though, she got a little tired i think. I've noticed they spend alot of the time sleeping, but i expected that. Instead of bokking in the morning to be let out, they bok in the evening as it begins to get dark. I'm not sure why but they do settle once i cover them over ect I shall get some more photos of them soon - i'm not sure if it's just me but they look a little better already a little more interested and lively, i think! mostin
Those pictures bring back memories of my girls first day, I can't believe it was only 6 weeks ago , they are such cheeky madams now with proper characters. They will soon reveal themselves to you.

Barkisland
I gave my ex batts mixed corn right from the start, my original chooks showed them what to do with it! And it didn't upset their tummies at all, so I would say treat them to a bit. They will soon get to like it Hope they are settling in well. You will be amazed at how quickly they become 'normal chickens'.
