Lesley
Excellent news Tahsa - I hope it works out for you. You won't need to do much topping if you have sheep - we use our sheep as lawnmowers You will need to do it once and then they'll keep it down. The Dogmother
Just caught up with thei Tasha.... it sounds wonderful and just what you've wanted. Has Prudence had a look with you? I really MUST get up to see you, but the next few weekends are stacked up, plus the van is in dock and possibly terminal I can see Lewis moving in with you if you get sheep
Redwing
Lewis can be my shepherd If we got the field the plan would be to move the table birds up there to free up some of the garden. Honest. I'm trying to be sensible but Prudence has wandered off muttering some choice words under her breath so I am not sure she will be on hand to offer advice as she doesnt seem to be talking to me now

I used to help out with the lambing on a friends' cornish sheep farm and (as Lesley says) they have only one aim in life... to die Lovely animals, but oh, so dim. Lesley
Perverse, yes! - dim, no!! Sheep can be very clever - especially when it comes to outwitting a human
Redwing
OH says I am recklessly impulsive (I think it was a compliment...) he was my boyfriend when I had horses as a teenager though so he does know that I am used to veterinary emergencies, getting up early, mucking out and sitting up all night with ill animals so am at least understanding of the commitment involved and I think that puts his mind at rest! Crazy sheep may be my downfall though We have left a message on the chaps phone about the field Are we crackers? watch this space!
The Dogmother
Are we crackers? watch this space! Of course, but that's why we like you Perverse is a good word for them Lesley.
Lewis
Lewis can be my shepherd I'm there! I wonder what will go in the other side of the field, it could be a dangerous place for all those table birds

Redwing
Would love some Lewis but they are so expensive, just sorting out the field and buying the sheep is going to cost several hundred pounds
moochoo
Go for it! You'll always wonder "what if?" if you turn it down. The money side obviously hasn't put you off too much or you would have immediately turned it down.
Lewis
Would love some Lewis but they are so expensive, just sorting out the field and buying the sheep is going to cost several hundred pounds I know what you mean , costs for everything are going up all the time. If you aren't too fussed about the breed, some farmers give away the cade lambs, because they cost them money and time which they don't have. I know at the childrens farm they got 6 cade lambs in every year for the children to bottle feed .
