Calling all creative thinkers.....

Recommended Posts

Living on the island I've started to notice more and more people have named their cottages...for example "Whalebone", "Buoys and Gulls", "Nevaeh" (Heaven backwards) "Ma's Place", "The Aunt's Cottage".

I'm hoping you lot could give me some inspiration on how I could incorporate my love for chickens and the islands in coming up with a name.

Can only suggest some old Scottish words really Mark,

Cearc (pronounced kirk) is chicken and Innis is island.

I'm not one for playing on words like the "Buoys and Gulls" example in your post but prefer something that has meaning, personal or otherwise. Sorry I'm not very good at this but I know lots who are on this forum!! Good Luck !! :D

I'm not very creative, but something I saw on a beach hut once, that I really loved, was 'Multum in parvo', which means 'much in little'. :D

I'm not one for naming houses, but I like that one Olly.

Mark, do you have any photos of the cottage, so we can get a feel for it?

Not much to look at but here it is as requested.......

I'm not very creative, so have no sugestions beyond the Hencatraz, Peckadilly Station type of thing but am finding myself very confused that majorbloodnock has the same avatar as Angels 4. :D

I thought Mark was talking to himself!

I thought I was losing my mind for a moment  but if I am, I'm in good company.

I'm glad you like it - you've made my day !! Cottage looks lovely Mark and against that bright blue sky and sunshine, perfect. Lots of great suggestions coming in from the Oms, I wonder what you'll decide on eventually !! You'll need to get a sign made next and I can see just the place for it to hang

No ideas, sorry Mark. :(
