Cinnamon
Oh to be the mother of teenagers My girls have just come back from Reading clutching a bag full or peroxide bleace & semi permenant colours in fire engine red,hot pink & sky blue The brunette daughter is bleaching little bits of her hair then dying it red,the blonde MAY dye some of her hair blue but is still weighing up the pros & cons of this (she has an interview for a weekend job at Waitrose on Saturday!) Any of you out there got brighter than bright hair?
Redwing
Not now but I have naturally red hair and used to have it cut shoulder length with the bottom two inches dyed a really bright vivid red - it looked so cool and I used to get loads of comments on it from strangers Then I got promoted and thought I had better look more 'corporate' so let it grow out
The Dogmother
Not these days Sarah. Happy days, eh?
Yorkshire Pudding
Not these days... but I have six weeks before we go back to school so am tempted. Shopping with my boys the other day they tried VERY hard to persuade me to dye my hair violet. I nearly gave in but bought deep mahogany instead . Maybe I should go stripy just for the hell of it! Cinnamon
Stripes are apparantly very in Yorkie - they are called coon tails by the trendy young things. I think Devon has bottled out until she knows if she has the job at Waitrose or not. Her other interview is with Lush & they positively encourage blue hair Cleo,on the other hand, who is a total handfull, has bleached the back of her 'Duck Butt' hair do to the most vivid orange you can imagine. She likes it & is not dying it fire engine red on top for the moment. When she goes back to school she is planning on dying the whole lot black, & hopefully it will look ok Me? - I am a nervous wreck! Will try to get a photo later. Cinnamon
Here you go! Now its dry,its not as vivid as it was,but I'm not telling her that. Don't know where she gets this rebellious streak from. When I met Hubby my hair was orange & pink........
The Dogmother
WOW! Do they know that if they keep on bleaching/dying their hair, it'll snap?

Yorkshire Pudding
WOW! Do they know that if they keep on bleaching/dying their hair, it'll snap? You beat me to it Claret - I was just going to post the same thing. Me and many friends had to give our hair a rest in our teens because otherwise we'd have had none left! But Lewis is right, it's ! Scramble
Lovely I like it Well where to begin. The list of my sister shair dying 2005: Turqoise - all over 2006: Blue - all over 2007: Blue on top, purple ends 2008: Purple - all over 2009 : This year she's going for blue on top with pink ends Hope your girls have fun I know my sister loves her multi-coloured hair She's 16 now but she started dying her hair when she was 12 I've had auburn in my hair years ago, but it's just its natural dark browny-little bits of red now
Old Speckled Hen
WOW! Do they know that if they keep on bleaching/dying their hair, it'll snap? Tell me. My youngest step daughter is a hairdresser and changes the colour of her hair almost as frequently as her underwear. At one point a tennis ball sized area came away and when the comb-over started looking absurd she shaved it to a number 4 It's bright purple and jet black at the moment but thankfully a little longer. Mind you, Cinnamon, her hair does look nice and hasn't she got a lot of it My hair is so fine the riskiest thing I can do is have highlights. Cinnamon
This hair thing has all happened in the space of a few months. In May,my daughter had long, wavy chocolate brown hair, & its got shorter & funkier with each passing month I agree,I think it looks pretty good, & like DA says, there isn't a great deal of it at the back anyhow,so it'll grow out soon enough
clootie
I can't get my DD to do anything at all with hers. It's down to her waist and all one length. It takes a lot of nagging even to get it pinned back
Scramble
Cut it while she sleeps... No, Clootie put the scissors down, I'm joking!

The Dogmother
I went from waist-length hair to jaw length in one cut! It has been many colours in the past, my favoruite was claret red all over... so appropriate
Jules.
I went from waist-length hair to jaw length in one cut! Any photos you can share with us of your long hair? All I do with my hair now is semi permanent dye it to hide the grey I am in the process of growing it longer, though......
The Dogmother
Only proper prints Jules. I die mine too - almost totally grey now, but don't feel grown-up enough to be grey! I shan't have it long again; not a good look as I get older.
Griffin
Mine has been various shades of red since I was about 15. I've just done a little experiement and for the first time in over 15 years hadn't dyed it for about four months because I was curious to see just how white it was underneath. I don't have grey hairs, just pure lily white ones Today I thought it was looking a bit scruffy with about five different colours in it, white, natural brown plus various shades of red so I've dyed it a dark reddish brown again. Far too much white for somebody my age I'd quite like pink hair
Cinnamon
I'd quite like pink hair Me too, actually. But my hair is a bit wild & curly, & I think that if your hair is going to be PINK then it had better look good all the time, because everyone is going to notice it,aren't they? Quite like Jane Goldmans tomato red hair too I saw Carrie Grant with her hubby David in the Spa at Centerparcs,& she was so noticeable with her crimson streaks - no mistaking her at all!
