I agree with what everyone has said about the show dance. It certainly looked like a circus routine rather than a dance and did remind me of Brendan and Lisa's effort last year.

 

I honestly thought that Chris would go but he must have had the most votes to still be in it so you have to fancy him to win it now.

 

This would make my OH very happy indeed - for reasons that have nothing to do with Chris!

Her dance was excellent, although I think her flicks could have been a little sharper.

 

Ricky's Tango was a-may-zing.

 

Sorry to see Ali go. , but would have been sorry to see Chris go too.

 

 

I think Ricky is absolutely amazing: the tango had me holding my breath and was perfect! But he can do graceful, sexy, sharp....Ali was far far better than Chris despite her inability to really let go and she should have gone through in my view. But A-MAY-ZING Ricky has surely got to win. It's the only show that makes me almost wish I was famous so I could go on it!

Agree with you all re the show dance - I hated it and didn't think it was dancing at all.

 

Don't know if any of you saw Chris and Ola on It Takes Two on Monday but they looked so sad. Apparently Chris was on a radio phone in and someone called up to say how he had ruined her weekend by getting through to the final. He has also had emails and texts in a similar vein.

 

I feel really sorry for them as it seems to have taken away the enjoyment they should be feeling at getting though to the final. Surely no-one in their right mind can have a go at him in getting through as he was voted for by the public.

 

I voted for him and Ali (it was quite hard getting through for both of them) . He has every right to be there - he has tried so hard (as have they all) and his Charleston has to go down as one the most entertaining dances there has ever been on Strictly. I did feel that even at the semi final stage Ali still wasn't putting her heart and soul into the dancing, especially her argentine tango, due to nerves.

 

I watch the show to be entertained and I felt slightly uncomfortable watching someone who was so nervous. I still voted for her tho as her americal smooth was beautiful. Can't take to Ricky for some reason

Aliona. No, there's not any chemistry, neither seems to be enjoying it much. I usually like the professional dancers but I've never warmed to her.

We're not keen on the red headed professional either. I can't remember who her celeb was but the choreography that she gave him didn't help him. We talked about it at the time at home. Some of the professionals don't last more than one series.

Aliona danced with Rav Wilding. I get the impression he wasn't too keen on her either!

Thats right, gosh he seems to have been gone a long time. I think they commented that she hadn't choreographed to his strengths or taken into account how big he was.

I'm not an Aliona fan either and I agree with Claret, she seems to sap Matthew's enthusiasm. He's usually my fave professional male dancer, but his spark definitely isn't there this season.

 

Ola, on the other hand, has really blossomed this year. I love her and Chris' chemistry.

 

Also loving James Jordan's backstage commentaries. Claudia quipped last night that he's after her job!

I like Chris he seems like a geniunely nice bloke. Haven't heard James' comments though.

 

Matthew is usually the most elegant and passionate of dancers, but he doesn't seem the same with Aliona, he was more 'into it' with Alesha.

I'm gutted that Rick didn't win as he was by far the best dancer but it was a really good final and very entertaining. I shall try not to sulk for long

I was so impressed by the way Chris held his own tonight, those lifts he did with Ola were fantastic. As far as improvement goes he deserved his win.

 

He was so humble the whole way through.

 

I almost got to the stage of not caring who won tonight because the whole final took place in such a lovely spirit of mutual respect , but I still wanted to see Chris win

 

I nearly didn't watch the final, we recorded the first part then watched it just before the second part, because we had been out to eat. I am so glad that I did and it was lovely to see Jade and Ian do their Tango I really hope that she regains her full fitmess for the olympics

wow well WHAT a final... feel it was the best ever, but perhaps I always feel that.... loved Chris's dances. loved him all the wy through, felt sorry for Ricki, felt we had 2 winners.

I think that Ricky was by far the better dancer, but it was the best final ever and a very enjoyable evening.

It was a brilliant final, worth the license fee alone. I loved all of the dances. It's a shame they couldn't both win. Ricky though is without a doubt the very best male celebrity dancer we've ever seen on there. I doubt he'll ever be topped.
